Pasatiempo Golf Club
Played On 08/28/2016Compares with any course incl. Monterey
This might be one of the more challenging/fun courses I have played. The greens were fast and undulating, but they were fair. There were a couple greens which were extremely sloped and tiered to the point of almost gimmicky. But the greens were challenging without being unfair.
The course is in gorgeous shape. The fairways and sand are perfect. I walked, but you had better be in shape. It is up and down.
A couple heads-ups: 1.) Most courses on golfnow include cart in their prices or have a separate option for walking. The Pasatiempo price does not include cart. add an extra $30 ride/$10 push cart. 2.) Range balls are included in the price. But getting to the range requires a shuttle down and back. So factor that into your arrival time. The shuttle is quick and frequent, but there is some extra hassle.
Coyote Creek Golf Club - The Tournament Course
Played On 05/17/2014fair and challenging
The course is very fair, yet challenging. I went with a couple less talented players who still had fun.
There are many options at the snack bar. The whole groups was impressed with the food back at the club house. And the practice facility is *very* nice (driving range is fairway grass).
Monument at Troon North Golf Club
Played On 03/29/2013great course, if you have the money.
The only downside was the $300 green fee. Everything was pristine and the course was challenging.
TPC Scottsdale - The Stadium Course
Played On 3/29/2013compares very favorably to the TPC stadium
Most of the staff agreed that the TPC champions course was at least as difficult, if not more difficult. At $99 vs. $299, the Champions course was a great deal. The course is maintained by the same staff and was in excellent shape. Greens were challenging but fair.
