The Legacy
Played On 09/17/2020Fun course
We found this course online and decided to play. Staff friendly, masks required (but not enforced. There were a couple of guys in the clubhouse not wearing masks and not being asked to even though the sign on the door said they were required). The driving range needs grass, but it was adequate. The course was a fun layout and in good shape. The greens are not flat, which makes the course harder if you are a first time player. Elevation changes, doglegs, bunkers, it all comes into play. We had a great time and would recommend playing here.
Far Oaks Golf Club
Played On 07/19/2014Fun to play
The course is in excellent shape. Lots of good characteristics you look for in a golf course. Blind shots, water hazards, reachable par 5s, really fun to play. The only problem I saw was that the yardage on the card is probably wrong. If you play, play from the tips. The 1st hole is a par 5 and I hit driver, 7 iron onto the green. There is a 340 yd par 4 on the back & I hit 5-wood off the tee and was greenside. All in all though, the layout is nice and the fairways are perfect.
Pevely Farms Golf Club
Played On 07/06/2014Always fun!
Always enjoy playing at Pevely. It is rolling, scenic, and challenging. The course is in great shape. Greens roll great, fairways are well maintained, and the rough is not too bad. A little overpriced for weekend play but that is St Louis golf. I booked as a single on Golf Now and found a good deal.
Spencer T. Olin Golf Course
Played On 06/22/2014Lots of shot-making opportunities
The course is in fantastic shape, greens run true and are consistent 1 thru 18. I played the white tees @ 6500 yds and this forces the longer hitters to reconsider hitting driver on several holes. Lots of doglegs that force you to hit a long iron or fairway metal off the tee. A mature course with lots of large trees, water, and elevation changes. This course has it all. Lots of fun to play. Next time I will play from the tips at 6900 yds.

First time playing this course & I must admit, I was a little disappointed. I have played other Jack Nicklaus courses that were in better shape than this. Overall it was ok, but the grass was patchy around a lot of the greens, the fairways needed mowing, some greens had rough spots (which were taken out of play by the placement of the pins) but worst of all was the pace of play. Over 5 1/2 hours to play 18 on a Sunday afternoon...The course has a great layout and forces you to lay up off of several tees. this makes you think of how to play the course, not just go pound it as far as you can. Thanks Jack! All of the things I mentioned above can be fixed with a little TLC and I will be back to play again, but might I suggest a marshall or two to keep the pace of play at 4hrs?!
Innsbrook Resort Golf Course & Clubhouse
Played On 04/06/2014Nice Course
I played early as a single and was done in 2.5 hours. Course was in good shape for early in the year. Greens hold on good shots and roll true. With 6 par threes, you must hit your irons well to score well. Play this course from the tips to experience the best challenge. If not, it is a short track. Go early to avoid the crowds. Worth the drive out of St Louis.
Bear Creek Golf Club
Played On 03/15/2014Nice course, great staff.
This is a nice course and can be enjoyed by any level of golfer. Play the gold tees if you want to use every club in your bag. The card says 7010 yards and it has to be close. The fairway bunkers are in play on most holes unless you play from the white tees and then you can fly them. Course was in good shape for March but will be better when everything starts growing! It took 5 hours to play which is WAY too long but that is how it is at BC. I think they need to spread the tee times out some and stop overbooking.
Missouri Bluffs Golf Club
Played On 11/4/20122 putting/practice greens, nice driving range, very nice clubhouse
Course is in good shape for November. I played as a single and finished in 2 hours flat. Greens rolled true, fairways in good shape, grasses are dormant so ball rolls farther than in summer. My only complaint is that this time of year they really need to get (or use if they have one) a blower to blow the leaves off of the fairways and greens. With all of the trees that are on this course (and that is a plus) it's easy to loose a ball in the rough or even the fairway!
We are so happy you enjoyed your round, cemauer! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
