Ridder Farm Golf & Country Club
Played On 08/15/2020Good course, horrible "regulars"
I would suggest this course as long as you don't go on weekend mornings and aren't a newbie. We had 2 newer golfers with us and played at 7:30 on a Saturday morning. We were still able to finish our front nine in 2 hours, which wasn't the fastest round but was in no way slow. During the front we let one group of guys, that were cruising along, play through. Apparently a group of "regulars" behind them were not happy with our pace and called the pro shop on us (we were told they do this on a weekly basis).
The ranger asked us to hold up at the turn to allow these guys to play through, which was fine with us. So we waited 10 minutes at the 10th tee for the group to finish up 9. The ranger was incredibly nice and did a good job of trying to defuse the situation.
The problem began when the grumpy old dudes decided they needed to talk to us like we were children and reprimand our pace of play. They said the normal pace for 18 is 4 hours, which we ended up finishing in even after waiting for them to play through. They got what they wanted by playing through, yet they still felt the need to be extremely rude about it. I understand trying to keep up with the group in front of you but when you have fairly new players learning the game, it's tough asking them to pick up their balls just to keep up. It ruined the back 9 for us all. Overall the course is a good value for the price but dealing with the "regulars" that go there isn't worth it.
