The Walker Golf Course at Clemson University
Played On 04/30/2017Beautiful and Fun
Course was in excellent shape and had some beautiful views of Lake Hartwell. The greens putted true but were much slower than other courses in the Up State. Play moved at a good pace but backed up on the final four holes but not bad for a Sunday afternoon. Well worth the drive from Greenville and worth the money.
Legacy Pines Golf Club
Played On 06/08/2015Many Ups and Downs
Fun course to play that was in very good condition. Greens were firm with many undulations and quite quick downhill. Only course that I have ever played with a 200 yd par three that was 30-50 feet UPHILL. Many of the greens were extremely uphill on your approach shot. Especially the par fives. Will definitely play it again soon.
Saluda Valley Country Club
Played On 05/26/2015Worth the money
Course was in good condition except that the greens were a little bumpy. The way I put it actually helped several times.
The Preserve at Verdae
Played On 05/05/2015Fun course
Most greens were hard, elevated and fairly quick which added to the difficulty, but they were in excellent shape and putted true. Most were hard to correctly read the break. Usually broke less than it appeared. Fairways still have some growing to do but weren't bad. The course is fun and I will play it again.
Fox Run Country Club
Played On 12/15/2014Tough Pin Positions
Greens were fast and all pins were either up front or way back. A missed putt could easily go off of the green.
River Falls Plantation
Played On 09/22/2014Good layout & good condition
Fun to play and was in good condition. Greens were not as fast as other courses I have played in this area. Some blind shots and the course book does not always give you the best way to play the hole.
Cherokee Valley Course and Club
Played On 09/08/2014Fun & Friendly
This is always a fun course to play that is not overly difficult, except the greens can be tricky, fast downhill and hard to read. I played as a single but was paired up with two nice gentlemen that were friendly and great to play with. If you are ever in the Upstate of SC, this should be one of the courses that you play.
Willow Creek Golf Course
Played On 08/19/2014Good Value
Well worth the money. Course is in good condition (except for un-filled divots and un-repaired ball marks - why do golfers do that?). Greens can be tricky and hard to read. You'll enjoy it.
