This is the old Pontiac Municipal redesigned about 20 years ago. Nicely done. For as short as the course is, it offers a nice challenge. It pays to think your way around. Penalized for poor club choices. You are rewarded for good play. The clubhouse has been updated. They’ve done a nice job out there. Worth playing for sure.

I grew up playing here as a kid, and have always loved this course. Hard to believe it's been nearly 40 years, Course has always been very good. Great job on reworking the bunkers from many years ago. The only thing I miss is #3 as the risk-reward short par 5 it used to be with the wicked green. Loved that hole. Don't care for it as the par 4 it's been for years, but I still love the course. Also miss the willow on #6 fairway. But the bunker there is an excellent substitute. That was well done. The Metropark system has done a super job caring for this course through the years. My hats off to them, and the grounds crew for their work.

Old-style design. Tightly routed holes, therefore easy to walk. Fast, undulating greens. Long golf course if you play from the tips. Will test all aspects of your game. Seek out discounted play. They do frequently offer very reasonable rates. I would like to see different pin positions on the weekend. They always seem to be in the same place. A bit boring. The shapes of the greens lend themselves to some great pin positions... though I never see them use them. That's all I'd change.

Overall, I love the course. For being built in 1923, at 6500 yards, it has stood the test of time. Good mix of easy, and tough holes. If the wind is up, the course can be quite challenging. Greens are undulating, but only Stimp around 10. Very fair. The course doesn't beat you up, and is enjoyable. Nicely maintained, but not perfect. Nice course to walk.
