Great Value

New management team has done a great job the last few years getting this place in shape. A few bald spots and mushy spots on the fairways, but good overall. Greens roll true and medium fast. Short course, but tight and challenging. I’ve shot in the 70’s and the mid 90’s, so keep the big sticks in the bag to avoid trouble. Older folks in the pro shop can be a little crotchety, but the younger folks are pleasant. Not much to offer for food/drink, but what they have is very reasonably priced. Great value for the $$$.

Different

Take a break from the typical Florida layout to take on the. New Corse. The fairway bunkers will leave you scratching your head. Trick is going with less off the tee and being precise. Easy to fall victim to what looks like plenty of open fairway, and just bombing the ball out there without a plan. Do that and you'll have plenty of sand in your shoes at day's end. Bunkers could be in better shape as well as the greens. Don't forget to remember what color flag you're going for. Plush fairways and tee boxes. And where is a ranger? Nearly 5 hours ?! If the price is right, snag it- but don't look for a quick getaway.

Nice little course

Certainly not a five star place, but if you're looking for a quick round at a value price, Fairways is a great option. Greens are slow, but in fair condition and the fairways are a bit rough in spots. Layout is short, but tight, forcing many players to sacrifice distance for accuracy if they're wise. Back nine is quite picturesque, but don't hit a house-the senior residents love to admonish those who rattle their tin roofs with wayward shots.

Putt-Putt Greens

I was really looking forward to playing Grande Pines for some time, but came away feeling a bit let down. The overall design is nice and certainly challenging, while the condition of the greens and fairways were above average for this time of year. However the tee boxes were in poor condition and many of the greens create unfair putting opportunities. One such green created a situation where leaving a putt six inches short resulted in the ball rolling 15 feet back down a hill. I expect that at Congo River-not at a championship golf course. The place is nice and the staff inviting, but your money is better squandered at many other courses in the area.

Nice little course.

Great for a quick nine, look to finish in less than two hours despite walking. Course is very tight with OB all around to challenge your accuracy. Not very long, but you have to hit shots to position for approaches into small greens.

Some dead patches in the fairways, and greens are slow, but not a bad place to head out to for the money. Better than many at twice the price.

Not an easy course and you definitely have to hit shots on certain holes. 18 is a nice finishing hole
