Desert Willow Golf Course
Played On 06/05/2015Nice executive course
A great place to bring average golfers. All par 3's and 4's with a few being pretty long. Nice shape and fast greens.. Very good restaurant and friendly staff.
Quarry Pines Golf Club
Played On 11/25/2014Tough but interesting back nine
Built in an okd quarry, the back nine is challenging but a must play . Greens were quite firm and playing from the on a breexy day required long and accurate drives .
Sierra Star Golf Club
Played On 09/18/2014Beautiful course
Along with Snowcreek, Mammoth Lakes has two of the most beautiful courses anywhere! Sierra Star winds through the forest and upscale homes and condos but still has gorgeous views of the Sherwins. It is really a must play and the staff is very friendly. Pace of play came to a halt after eight holes but I was a single so I was able to take some cell phone photos.
Diamond Valley Golf Club
Played On 10/23/2012Getting in great shape
With the snowbirds flocking to the Inland Empire, some of the courses like Diamond Valley and Hemet GC have done a lot of overseeding. The greens at Diamond Valley are "fuzzy" and should be in perfect shape by Thanksgiving. Until then, they are very slow. Fairways have greened and this challenging course in a rural setting is a joy to play.
The Country Club at Soboba Springs
Played On 9/21/2012Great value
Soboba is always in great shaoe in the early summer after the pro tour event but the summer beats it up a bit. Still, the resort is first class, staff is great, green fees low and the variety of holes is super
Hemet Golf Club
Played On 8/31/2012Bargain
Like many daily fee courses in the Inland Empire, Hemet Golf Club is attracting a lot of play with low green fees. They are trying to recover from a complete maintenance shut down a few years back so the fairways have some rough spots. Greens are fairly slow but well maintained. Bunkers are more dirt than sand. They are trying and it can be a very enjoyable course to play
The Links at Summerly
Played On 8/16/2012Very unique
A links style course with water hazards make Summerly unique. Allows you to play a lot of different shots from the traditional Southern California courses. Great value. Great staff. Well maintained carts. Very good bar and restaurant with views.
Cherry Hills Golf Course
Played On 1/9/2012value
Greens are always good. Fairways are rough from frost. Off the fairways here is never good. No landscaping except weeds and hardpan. Pace was slow on 1/9 w back-to-back fivesomes which played without any urgency whatsoever. Cart died on the 9th hole but attendant arrived in minutes w a replacement. Regular green fee of $26 overpriced but GolfNow.com rate is reasonable.
