Slowest round of the year...lots of beginner golfers

This redesigned course had greens which did not have one flat spot. Undulations were overdone. Unless you are a pro or an extremely good reader of putts, scoring on this course is very difficult. Since the average player is a Sun City retiree, the architect missed the mark on this one. Great course for a 10 minus handicapper, but frustrating for the rest of us.

Nice old sun city course. Since I am an older duffer the course was great. Not recommended for golfers who are advanced or want more luxury surroundings.

This is a great course if you are an old duffer. Not a good course for low handicap golfers. Will play again with some good old boys.

Fairways were overwatered and ball lost roll and was constantly covered with mud, especially in the fairways. Superintendent needs to back off on water to dry out the course quite a bit. Due to this factor, will not play course again. When we got to course, there is no one to check in your bag and no sign for bag drop off. Greens were in very good shape

Course condition was overall average. Greens were in very good condition as well as sand traps. Fairways needed additional overseeding...a bit thin and patchy in several fairways. Very nice staff at course.

Course was in good shape , except everyone in our foursome lost a ton of strokes due to very slow greens. Unless greens are cut properly, will not play this course again.

When I paid for the tee time with Golf Now, there was no indication it was cart paths only. When I got to the course, the pro shop did not tell me this either. There was no starter at the first tee to tell me this. When I drove my cart onto the Fairway, it stopped running (programmed to stop if one leaves the cart path). What a surprise.. Had to walk most of the course, which is not what I paid for. Need better communication between golf now and the pro shop.

Greens were very slow and difficult to putt. My main complaint was that my round was prepaid with Golf Now. When I checked in , the head pro in shop said that my green fee did not include the cart. When I told him that my reservation said the cart was included and it was paid in full, he said that Golf Now is messed up and if I wanted to play , I had to give him an extra $5 for the cart. I had no choice but to pay. I will contact Golf Now to get a credit. I have been online booking for two years now weekly and I never had this happen. Will not play here again since the course apparently does not want to follow Golf Now policy. Thank you.

Really good condition despite just opening after overseeding. No complaints...just a long drive to get out there.

Course was not in top shape since they are cutting grass down to get ready for future overseeding. Despite this, course was in descent condition and very playable. Grill has a reasonably priced menu and great happy hour beer prices...very friendly staff.

Nice golf course and fairly good condition despite early prep for overseeding. Beer at 1.75 a can is awesome and a second good reason for returning.

I booked the round, but was given no advisory that hole number 8 was shut down for sprinkler repairs. The pro was nice and said since we were not given proper notice, we could play a few extra holes. When we got on course the ranger said "no way are you going to play any extra holes, just give yourself a par on the missed hole". I always thought that the pros in the golf shop had the last word. Nasty golf ranger , but nice pros. When one gets old, you either grow bitter or grow better. Course was almost empty at 2 pm when we finished. The course itself was in superb condition for this time of year.

The last two times this past few months that I played at Palmbrook, the greens were bumby and not filled in after previous aeration. Putting on the greens was like putting on the fringe on most competitive golf courses. You could never get a true roll and you had to smash the ball to get it to the hole on putts over 15 feet. The rest of the course was fine, but they have totally neglected proper maintenance of the greens. The staff was excellent (Matt, the attending pro, is always friendly and helpful). Too bad such a nice course has greens like molasses. The restaurant has a very limited lunch menu and pricey beers. Will pass on the course for the rest of the summer.

For this time of year, maintenance was pretty descent. The lady in golf shop offered golfers ice and water since there was no cart gal that day...she actually got into a cart and drove the course. Good management. If the rates were higher, I would not play this course...good value for the money.

Course was a bit slow, due mainly to previous rain. Overall well maintained course. Outstanding chef for lunch..nicely prepared.

Positives: very friendly pro shop staff. Negatives: bottled beer priced like north Scottsdale ($5 a bottle), only one lunch item available, fairways have several dead spots, greens were like putting on shag carpet, and non pro shop staff act like they do not like working there. There are much nicer courses with much better food/beverage services to select from in the valley. How there restaurant stays in business is beyond me. The food service includes a built in tip for all food and beverage orders...result, less than enthusiastic food servers.
