A Hidden Gem

The Tee boxes are patchy and the fairways are needing more thicker grass but the greens are difficult with the undulations and the slow pace. If in this area, you must play this course and play from the top if your a long hitter as you need to play target golf which makes it challenging. The staff are great and the ranger maw very kind.. this will be on our regular list when in the area.

Out of the blue

This was a last minute change for us as we did not see this in the list at the star. Arrived at the course and loads of parking for a Large Car Truck.
The staff was awesome, Naomi was a pleasure to all with, She is he Head Pro and is very pleasant, Rick was also a nice person with great info on the course. Thanks to the both of them. The course was tuff from the blue tees as it rained in the AM and you got no roll at all and on some drives it plugged but the rain was massive in the AM.
Great test for good golfers on their target playing, Undulating Fairways and uphill shots and down hill fairways. This is a must if in the area.

Kentucky has more than Horses

Well what can I say about this place, It is a must play when in Kentucky or if in the nearer states, get in your car and play it. From the time you arrive they drive the Buggy/Cart out to you and are very friendly, It's also trucker friendly and room to park your Truck as we did. It has great drainage as the previous day there was a lot of rain. The course is Challanging as I played from the Blue Tees, My Wife played from the Reds but she with she Stared from the golds. The Greens are nice and undulation on this is way better than flat ones. My only down side was he bunkers, but again being as they had a lot of rain the day before I can see why they were like hard pan. The Marshal was great to chat with I wish I remembered to get his name but I know we will return and see him again. Thanks All for a fantastic day out of our truck.

Where are the graps

Played this with my wife today, wow what a nice course and the greens were 10.7 and very true. Loved the design and the condition of the course, Again I am so surprised that this is a muni course. Outstanding is the word for this complex.
The staff were very friendly and one of the starters was from Liverpool, the Everton side so we had a bit of a giggle, he's a nice bloke, for the blue scouse.
I could not wait to play the Lakes course so I booked tee times from the 6th fairway. Again this is trucker friendly course but its a bit tight getting into the parking lot. If in the area put this on your list, you wont be disappointed.

Windy in Ventura

We were looking on here for a course to play as we always do and came up with this little gem. Its like a parkland/Links course well links due to the wind from the sea. It has great challenging holes and it's not a very long course but mid to low handicap players should play from the champ tees or the tips. Great condition and the greens were nice a quick, shame others don't know how to repair pitch marks but I've seen worse at other courses. Also you can get a semi tractor in the parking lot although a little tight in the driveway. One more thing Walk don't Ride, it's a nice easy walk.

Middle of Nowhere Golf

This course was found when we were in the area with work. What a nice course and a good Breakfast as well.
The course is in great shape and we look forward to playing it again, The staff were very nice and its Trucker friendly as you can get your semi in the parking lot. Also walk the course and don't ride its a nice walk with some nice sights.

Could be a good course

My Wife and I played this as it is part of a 4 course group and we played the other courses that were extremely good to play. Well what a disappointment this course, from the time you show up you this wow this course is being neglected. The proshop had almost nothing in it, it was mainly empty and the range was very poor. We started off and the Tee Boxes are in bad shape, patchy grass and dirt. We went round the course and it did get a little better on the back nine, you thing to yourself what a great place this could be if it was looked after. I think is is on the verge of closing like the lakes was. Shame another course down the drain. Not worth the money really if you are looking for a challenging round. The other group courses are fantastic.

Good but not top ten

I have heard how good this course was so we are staying at the resort. On arrival I was surprised that the staff that we checked in with did not offer me the rate that came out that was different from when I book our tee time. I had to insist on it and that was not right, he should have said here is our summer special rate that you can have, I spent the savings at the shop anyways.
The course was good, but the Tee boxes are very poor, not a flat spot anywhere from the Black Tees.
We will play again but I do not see why this is in the Top ten courses in Phoenix, it might be because it has a good learning center.
