Red Mountain Ranch Country Club
Played On 05/29/2021Legend at Arrowhead, The
Played On 03/21/2021Pace was slow, normal 5 hour round in peak season, greens were in good shape, course is a little rough around edges, some of the rough edges hard pack dirt off the fairways. First hole fairway had a lot ot range balls in the fairway, lost my first drive in a sea of balls in the fairway. I looked for about 5 minutes but didn't want to hold up play so I dropped another and moved on. Fair but challenging layout was enjoyable
Verrado Golf Club - Victory Course
Played On 01/28/2018Good course, meed to be accurate, off fairway equals lost ball due to rocky ground off fairway, pure desert course, no trees or shade. Comfort stations not completed, out houses only. Played with local who stated they comfort stations were promised to be completed months ago. Green and faiways were pristine condition. Fun course to play, fair test of skill. Practice range was on hill making it difficult to determine distances hit from tees, no chipping practice facilities putting practice green were more severely sloped than playing greens. Glad to play course, unlikely to replay due to location and price.
Grand Canyon University Golf Course
Played On 02/25/2017older course facelifted with the take over by Grand Canyon University, nice club house, new construction, geens and fairway very good condition, difficulty moderate, older style Phoenix course with out elevation changes or character, streets run along edges of course so street noise ever present, while price to play very affordable, pace of play great until we hit 3 group back up at hole #8 then back nine very deliberate wait at every tee box only finished 17 holes before darkness with 2:30 tee time so talking 41/2 hour round not bad for winter golf in Phoenix area where I have played 5 1/2 to six hour rounds on nicer Scottsdale courses

Played On 08/01/20141st Timer at Talking Stick
I played the south course, first time at Talking Stick. Excellent shape, fairways and rough. Greens very hard, was told they are only one year old and difficult to hold as ball tender to roll out. Few ball marks on green due to hardness. Had to wait at 1st tee as starter had to return to clubhouse for score card and map. We were also told wrong pin position which wasn't much of problem other than it was a 12:53 tee time, should have had time to figure that one out. Practice green is huge but only had 6 or 7 holes cut so I got to practice my 80 foot lag putts between holes. Price was only $18 on Golfnow so no complaints there.
Coldwater Golf Club
Played On 02/22/2014good course value for money
I have played Coldwater once before, in heat of summer. Course in very good shape, greens excellent shape. Rate on GolfNow very fair @$45 on a Saturday morning. Most Phoenix, Scottsdale courses are at least double the price. Pace of play very smooth arrived at most tee boxes and waited for group ahead to tee off and two of our group was walking. Not at all bad for a peak season round on a weekend. Practice facilites quite Sparten, driving range barely adequate and putting green is tiny. But cousr is worth the drive
Bear Creek Golf Complex - Cub Course
Played On 01/23/2014Cub Course
Played with my wife and her friend both of whom are beginning golfers so we played 9 holes on Cub course. Golf went very smoothly, teamed with a forth nice elderly gentleman. Course was easy enough that my wife and her friend were not overwhelmed and frustrated, but challenging enough that I enjoyed the round with them. Course in nice shape and greens rolled true with enough break to give a fair test. Booked through Golf Now so cart was included in price on line, gal at check in tried to charge me extra until I pulled out the conformation sheet I had printed out, so I was able to get full services booked.
Rio Salado Golf Course
Played On 12/04/2013my wife hadn't played in years so I was looking for a course that wouldn't over whelm her
I booked a time to golf with my wife and her friend. My wife hadn't played in many years so we booked 9 holes. Very enjoyable round. The day was overcast and cool, temps in the 60's so very few golfers out, which was nice as they didn't feel rushed or pressured. We enjoyed our round very much and look forward to another round soon. The course is a nice mix, executive style with one par 5 and a couple of par 4's. You cross the wash twice that adds a liitle challenge and rewards a good shot. We will be playing again soon. The course is a little rough around the edges but the greens ran true and fair and were cut tight not chia pet long like some value courses I have played. A good value.
Vistal Golf Club
Played On 10/30/2012good course, nice layout, great veiws
Course in good shape bermuda still green, historically not overseeded so conditions can deteriorate later in winter, greens fair, smooth true and quick but not overly fast, some waste areas grass still not filled in where old fairway bunkers have been removed will take time and money to mature. I have played course multiple times over last several years and conditions currently best I have seen them
