Great Course, Good Condition

Grew up playing this course, and glad to see it is still in solid shape all around. Course plays long, so intend on hitting some long irons into the green. Indy has received a lot of rain over the last month, so fairways were off limits on Par-5s when I played, and some sections of fairway were roped off for repair. They've really narrowed fairways, for some odd reason, and have removed some bunkers around the course over the years. Also, they've allowed grass to grow high around the creeks. Fairways, rough and greens were all in great shape and really enjoyed playing the course. Bunkers all around have just been let go and it seems to be a theme with public courses in Central Indiana. Definitely worth the $29 to play twilight on a Saturday. Shot a 43-40 for an 83 from the white tees.

Glad We Played - Overall Fun Course

This was my cousin and my second round of the week in Gulf Shores and decided to play Kiva Dunes after reading and hearing great reviews of the course. Is it worth the price? Sure. Paid through GolfNow and received a better deal than the clubhouse was offering. Was paired with another twosome which was fine, but wasn't necessary with the amount of players on the course. Greens were super quick and large which was fun to play. Some hole locations were a little difficult and close to unfair for approach shots. Must play well off the tee in order to score well or holes can be long and difficult. Cart girls weren't around as often as they could have been which was a bummer since there isn't a true "turn" for snacks and drinks. Will play this course again, but wasn't overly impressed. Shot an 80 with a 38-42.

Great Course! Worth the Price!

This was the first time I've played golf in Gulf Shores. My cousin and I played the Cotton Creek course at Craft Farms. First, the clubhouse was great and staff were very friendly. They paired us with another few single players despite not a lot of play on a Tuesday mid-morning tee time. Course overall was difficult for the first time ever playing. Would play differently next time I play. Everything was in great condition and greens rolled true and were quick. Cart girls were frequently around which was great to have. No complaints here and will frequently play this course when I return to Gulf Shores! Shot an 86 with a 46-40.

Overall Conditions Are Very Poor

I'm very disappointed in this course. I'm not going to pay $50 again to play this course in the current condition. What a rip off. This is my favorite course on the south side of Indianapolis. I've played this course for more than 10 years, and the condition this course is in is embarrassing. The fairways are long, usually very thin and smooth, and they are patchy all over the course. Rough and heather were in usual condition and overall were fine. Many bunkers are gone or just poorly managed and not full. Greens were long and slow when they are normally very short and super quick this time of year. Course played super long because of the length of the fairways. Hopefully this course fixes whatever the issues are right now with keeping up the standard it had for the last 10 years. Shot 39-40 for an eight-over, 79 from the green tees (second longest option).

Challenging

I was referred to this course from a couple buddies that had played here multiple times in the past. I was very surprised at how challenging it was from the start. It rained early in the morning, but was dry the whole afternoon. The course started slow and wet, but once it heated up the greens were super quick. Clubhouse was nice and those there were friendly. Cart didn't have a scorecard or pencil on it coming from the barn. Most tees weren't flat and the ball was always above or below my feet. Greens were the toughest part of the course. No complaints here, but I misread putts all afternoon to break the opposite way which is not normal for my game. I paid $28 to ride as a single, and played in about 3.5 hours after being held up by multiple foursomes in the final 4-5 holes. Overall, really fun, challenging course and would play again in the future. Shot 45-39 for an 84 from the blue tees.
