HORRIBLE

The best parts of this round were the staff, playing partners I was joined with, and the range was good as well (first time I've been there since they put in the mats). Sadly, it was downhill from there.
Ding 1: I played on a Friday, so I thought it should be quicker than a weekend round (have usually been able to finish in 4.5 hours or a little less). However, it took 5+ hours to finish this round
Ding 2: The fairways were good for the most part, but some tee boxes need work. Either too much wear and tear on some, or need mowing on others.
Ding 3: WORST OF ALL, the greens were absolutely terrible. They were the worst I've seen there and worst I've ever played on. It was worse than putting on aerated greens in my opinion and that didn't even look like what they were trying to do. You would putt and hope it bounced off of the pitch marks, mud spots, cleat marks, tiny bits of grass/weed/rocks/tees/sand/whatever else was growing and somehow find its way to the hole.

I've played here before (8-10 times probably) and I do like the layout but I have now had one too many bad experiences and do not plan on returning. The other most notable bad experience, was when one of the staff (I know they were part of the staff because they were the person that checked us in at the pro shop) started teeing off with 6 others right before we were able to start the back 9. Either they were a slow group that let everyone else except us pass and the person with the staff joined them for the back 9, or they just started play on the back 9 right before us and didn't let us play through. Regardless, the BACK 9 ALONE took us around 3.5 hours to play, with the entire round taking about 6 hours. If the weather wasn't perfect, I would've left after hole 12.

Meh

Was a nice and pretty open track, but the back 9 was under construction. It would've been nice to be notified of these repairs beforehand, either through the booking site or the staff. Won't be going back until all repairs are complete, so maybe next year.

Good

Met some friends at a middle spot (being Austin). Never played the course but always heard pretty good things about it. The range made me leery about how the course may be, but once we got out there the course was in much better condition than the range. Had a good time on the course with an awesome pace for a Saturday before noon.

Just alright

Played a little after the rain, so we weren't able to utilize the GPS (even though the course wasn't soggy at all and could've easily tolerated the carts on the course). With that said they need more yardage markers. Course has a nice layout, but the greens were pretty rough, and the practice facilities were just average. Also the cart parts are pretty broken up and need some repair.

great course, that I've played quite a few times. sometimes it can be a bit slow on the weekend, but not many top courses are going to be much different.

Good experience

Course had some amazing views, and cool hole layouts. It was a little soggy, which was to be expected after all the rain. I only wish the range would've been open, instead of having to hit the course cold turkey, but can understand why it wasn't. Same as cart path only. Overall it was a great course, and will have to play it again sometime when the weather allows the course to be in peak condition.

pretty good

Made the drive over to try out the course, since I had heard about the renovations. It was pretty nice but I guess they watered pretty heavily the night before, because most fairways were still a little soggy around noon. Weather could have been a little warmer and a lot less windy, but not terrible. Greens were very well kept. Overall pretty good course for the time of year, lack of rain, and the deal I got.

okay

Been playing the course for years and enjoy trying to go and shoot my lowest round every summer. Not many choices out here, but the course has always been well kept. It does tend to get a little burned out in the dog days of summer, but greens have always been good.

nice

Course was well kept, as were the greens. Laser range finders come in handy when finding out distance from hole. Very friendly staff. Well worth the money we got on for. Only complaint is that they have no driving range, so we went to one before our round. All-in-all I will be back, and recommend as a must play in SA.

surprised

I drove by here a few times and didn't think that much of it, but I have to say I was surprised. The course was in good condition, apart from a few greens. Is fairly deceiving for someone playing their first round, but that's to be expected playing any course for the first time that doesn't have GPS carts.. Also it is quite NARROW, which I learned all to well on the back nine when my play off the tee started to diminish. Overall good golf course. Got a good value with the hot deal. Only complaint would be those aforementioned few greens that could've been better maintained, and the yardage marker definitely need to have something done with them so they're easier to find.

good, not great

First time playing here. First hot day of the year. Course was in pretty good shape. Greens were FAST but didn't have much grass, ball seemed to roll fine though. Cart girl was nice and came by a good amount throughout the round.

so-so

Practice areas are average at best. Greens were being aerated so there was that, can't grade poorly for it but wish it would've been stated before I went off. Fairways were a little patchy, which I can understand with the extended winter and only about a month or so of good weather this year. Never saw a beverage cart, which was strange for a weekend round.

goodness

Paid for the special, which is unlitimed ranch, golf, cart, a drink, and choice of food from the menu. Weather was cloudy and sprinkled a little, but sun came out after my first 18, so decided to take advantage and get in 36 for the day. Greens are fast, course is challenging, and long (especially from the tips, which I did, I believe it was 7340 yds, 75.3/139). First round was more difficult....as you'd expect, having to get experience of where you can hit shots, and how to gameplan each hole before you tee off. Shot 91 for the first round and trimmed it to 81 the second, mostly because of my iron play as well as getting a feel for the course. Overall enjoyed the course and believe it was worth the price. Only suggestion is if they are booking tee times either online or by phone with the idea of pairing players together, try and get a ballpark handicap when doing so. That way you can pair similar handicappers together if they are in search of good competition, looking for similar tee times, and similar play; so it doesn't have any adverse effect on someones round, by slowing their pace, etc.
