NkMip Canyon Desert Golf Course

I maybe got caught shotgunning a beer in the parking lot. Old man in a cart spotted me.
We really did have fun playing tho.
Range. Food. Bevy. All great.

"Hit the greens" - omonus last words of the man who works in the shack.
This course is a wicked little thing. Crazy views. Bridges and nice tight fairways.
But its tough! Really tough.
I basicall stuggled the entire time. In my defence it was the 90th thru 99th hole of our 3 day drug fueled, bindge drunk, seedy motel, bro golf trip 2017. I usually perform well under these conditions.
I love bubbly wine and golf. So this place has a special feeling for me. I like it.
The golf mat tee blocks loose points. But heavily wooded area.
Fun.
Osoyoos Golf and Country Club - Desert Gold
Played On 05/22/201736 holes. 36 memories
We did a huge solid day of golf here.
We got a great deal on a 36 hole rate. The clubhouse guy really did great for us.
12 guys. All outta towners. Just had a blast.

Nothing Special.
The school board in the area has bought the course.
Until they scoop it up the course is being neglected and a good place for extreme hackers and beginners.
I rather enjoyed the old trees and the area that the club is in Lake country.
but the course is banged up.
we kinda enjoyed it as a warm up walk before our round in the afternoon at another course.
Come and play for the chance before its gone.

Golf trip 2016
11 guys
I joke about the houses, but Seriously. Houses...on. every hole!
I had a second shot on a par 5. I cut it over a 30ft concrete retaining wall, over a backyard, hit that green for a eagle putt. The house was for sale so... i don't think they mind.
Overall a tight smaller course. Im surprised with the 72 par. It seemed smaller, but hey, chances to score abundant! I tonne of blind tee shots. There was a crazy downhill hole. We played it way wrong! shoulda just crushed a 3 wood down the pipe, find it down there later. But i layed up. weak play.
Overall challenging, i gave an average rating mainly because i was frustrated most of the time playing. I didn't know where to shoot. what club equals 65yrds downhill. and the friggen houses everywhere. construction noise. very busy roads weave through the course. but i will play it again if i get the chance.
good job.
Tobiano Golf Course

Golf trip 2016
11 dudes.
We planned for 36 holes from the beginning. It was a BIG day! First tee 930am. We played best ball from the blues/Spurs. Smart. This course will eat you up! We got to as a team scope some lines, hit some putts, and overall get a feeling. Smart.
Second round, Stroke play from the whites/Lake. Great on a few levels, white tees are very different than the first time around. Also! This course will eat you alive, playing from the whites is still tough enough. my handicap is 10ish
Fantastic views!
Top notch range!
Great GPS carts, and cart girls.
Like 8 holes that are epicly unique and challenging!
I will never forget our day at Tobianno! Never!
great job Tobianno. Kinda outside of town.
We air BNB'd. that was our only option for accom.
Talking Rock Golf Course

Golf trip 2016.
10 guys,
We had a blast. Great range with balls included from our greens fees. chipping area. Some great space for extra work, if needed.
Nice range. good yardage markers.
Course is in fantastic condition. Holes cut through the trees. Deep Pine! Full veriety of style and length. Fun longer holes. I had a Driver off the Deck, and Im a big hitter!
Marshals were a bunch of great old dudes. Giving tips and casually trashing Tobianno. haha. well done chaps.
Overall I thought this was an excellent place. Bigger and more than I expected. We were there on a Sunday at 10;30am. There was a nice brunch buffet i scoped it out, seemed legit. great job.
18th plays along the water, beautiful.
deep rough lines most holes. beware!
Mission Creek Golf Club
Played On 02/19/2016Open Early and we took advantage
Really glad this course was open today.
This small course, uses all the clubs in the bag.
Small greens, and some fun par 4's. Old growth trees block out some ball flight paths. Cool.
I was eyeing up a HUGE weeping willow on the 6th. bugger makes you hit a draw..... February draws are tough.
We paid 20$ walking, as a super early feb rate. Thats a super fair rate.
The tee markers were not on the tee blocks. I understand. Its February.
Herd something this off season about new ownership and some renovations to Duffers Grill.
Was really impressed with the clean new look.
I know a OCA (okanagan chefs assos) member has taken residence in the Kitchen. Menu looked great! Looking forward to eating.
I Really enjoy the tuesday afternoon deals all year!
Wear some water proof shoes in wet conditions, this course is LOW.
Great place to play all year!
shot a +16 after 18, (2 front 9's) with 2 birdies.
Gallagher's Canyon Golf and Country Club - Pinnacle 9
Played On 08/25/2015Walking isnt that bad!
I like this little track.
I take my parents here when they visit the Okanagan.
Its shorter, no par5's, shorter par 4's. and plenty of cool views.
Its a part of the Gallagher Club. so the highest level of quality care and conditions.
They have a great range for warm ups.
A buddy's daughter is in the youth programs and she loves it.
They had some great deals last summer.
but i think they still have the 4some for $60 or something close to that.
i remember playin this place for 16$ a lot. just a steal of a deal.
Id say watch the long hitters, the 4th, 6th and 8th, are dangerous for driving the greens. so beware!
Great place and i will absolutely be back playing soon.
Okanagan Golf Club - Bear
Played On 08/19/2015Sometimes you eat the Bear, sometimes it eats you.
A stunning example of 2 great courses.
We always seem to find a killer deal for twilight on the golf BC website. sometimes 35$ with. thats good! makes us play here a lot.
Great greens, Fantastic layout, Jack Nichalas designed. A real gem.
Doing the bear and the quail in a day is friggin great!, 36 distinct holes of greatness.
They have the clubhouse to boot. New hotel right near the airport has lifted this place into a full destination course.
Range, Carts, club cleaning, Marshals, Food, tournament services, all top notch.
Shannon Lake Golf Course
Played On 08/18/2015Altered course layout. Fun but i get lost.
So the first hole is the same. Not an issue.
Then things get wierd. 6 is the old 9, 13 is now the turn. Under the road 4x, or 6x? down to the lake for 8th, no wait thats the 17th now. cant remember, haha. Needless to say i got lost and played 76 holes. oooops.
The GPS carts are a blessing and a curse. crawling along at 1.1mph drives my insane! yes i know to NOT drive the carts on the greens. cool.
But if you ever got to know some yardages, those carts are awesome.
Love the location of the course, tight tree lined holes, then a little breathing room with some open sections. Lots of big drives off the tees. But also some tricky dog legs.
Always half decent condition, Always a great round of golf. Carts are sort of needed. lots of hills and long walks between holes.
Note; Dont park near the 18th fairway. I've seen some damage occur.
Club at Tower Ranch
Played On 08/17/2015Kelowna's Finest butt-kicker and name taker
We treat Tower Ranch different that others.
Its Big.
Its Mean.
Its a twice a year humbling experience.
That more than often is a highlight round of the year!
Local rates on Thurs ( i think) 79$ with. its worth it.
Im a 8 HC, i shoot a 89 at Tower and Im happy as heck!
Take a long slow drive from the 17th green to the 18th blocks. Its a 270* panoramic view of heaven. The whole Valley, From Wood lake to mountain ranges to the south. Its a camera moment. A selfie with friends that WILL become your facebook profile pic instantly!
No range. Fair practice area,
Recently there has been a lot of construction in a development. I understand. But i prefer the second 9 away from the houses. Up in and around the gullies and hills. Beautiful stuff!
Wild life galore! deers, bears, coyotes, the whole shebang.
If your not good at golf. DONT GO HERE!
Vernon Golf and Country Club
Played On 08/16/2015100 years old. In British Columbia!!?!
Yes, Its old and it shows, in all the right ways.
You can feel the older layout, wider fairways. the way the bunkers are placed around the greens.
The nice par 5's are fun to try and reach in 2. There is an documented albatross on a whole. look for a plaque on the backside of a yardage marker. cool!
As a big driver, i found just bombing it over the fairway bunkers and getting clean lies. chipping around the monster trees is fun times in my book.
I got a great deal with my Chef contacts so i played this very nice track many times.
I tiny range to tune up some chips and mid irons.
Fairly nice chipping greens.
I DID get thrown off for wearing track pants once. That doesnt normally happen to me. but, i risked it and lost. Good on VGCC for that call. Im a bum. haha.
See you again soon.
Spallumcheen Golf and Country Club - Executive
Played On 08/15/2015Played Once, Need to play again
We played in a staff tournament here,
Great for our non players, lots of rentals to grab.
friendly lady in a booth.
Somebody turned all my clubs upside down in my bag. Hilarious! i have a secret harasser.
When we got playing, the course was fun and light. nothing too challenging. Fun. Simple fun.
Unfortunately they had a hole or two tore up. changing the layout doing some major work. I understand. it was end of season.
Id play it again give her a real run.
see you soon
Spallumcheen Golf and Country Club - Regulation
Played On 08/14/2015Something Unique, Averagely Unique :/
Its not too long, cant say its short ether.
not super undulating , or overly flat.
not expencive, has a few deals to exploit.
A nice pond and fountain but not like it has some amazing views. Average. but i like it.
i really liked playing here. Its just a normal course. with some tough holes, tight first shot plays into doglegs. Old trees gobble up the ball and plunk it in some roots. Just fun stuff.
There is a stretch of holes that are kinda swampy, kind of different here in the okanagan.
No need to venture to the island in the middle of the pond. Its hardly worth the tee block.
Have fun, both courses are nice
Wear a cup! Your gonna get kicked in the balls.
Predator Course, at Predator Ridge, gives me chills.
Just an absolutely beautiful, challenging, fun course. Top 10 I've ever played. Just a beast.
The combo of all the amenities at Predator Ridge combined to make this a world class Golfing destination.
Its got blind tee shots, tight par 3's, huge elevation changes. Holes design that is blatantly taken from sawgrass, Pebble Beach, and amazing other courses.
I still after playing this course many times, I still havnt figured it out. Still challenging and scoring aloof. But i will consistently play with enthusiasm.
Then go into the very nice bar area and have a great drink.
Just do it! But only if your under 15 handicap.
Hillview Golf Club
Played On 08/12/2015Simple Rules. No carts, No tee times.
30$++ all you can play.
Im a heat LOVER like 35*C+ walking. So the place is empty and i enjoyed a nice short 18 holes executive to myself a lot.
It uses the entire bag. Only one driver for me, but its a solid use of every club.
Ive never waited for a tee. But i usually played weekday mid day.
There is a free water fountian in the clubhouse, it may have saved my life a few times.
Great little course.
Tip: hit the center of the greens and put out towards the pins. The center of most greens is nice and flat. but the sides are scalloped edges and false fronts.
Nice little range, nice little course, i enjoyed it a lot.
Played with an old geezer named Terry more than a few times. He had a wind aleron on his hat, and all the best trash talk.
Almost forgot, buy a sandwich. Those babies are HUGE and loaded with veggies. its a two handed huncher. ham and cheese solid choice. Not fried, Cold sandwich
Just walk up, pay and play.
The Lesser of Two Evils.
Ridge Course. Its the one you want to play first.
Had the extreme luxury to play in some fundraisers, chefs tournaments, Sysco tournaments, here at Pred.
Wholefully can say a world class resort. Its had the accom, the food, two 18's, the range, the practice areas, rentals, gear, carts, its a full score. Its a treat to play. I actually put on decent pants. Thats huge in my world.
Cant say enough, love this easier of the two pred courses. glad to play.
The Rise Golf Club
Played On 08/10/2015Altitude Sickness. (thats a good thing)
Gem!
Pay the money,
Bring some extra balls and play this course whenever you can!
Found a wicked local rate on thursdays. (gotta show the creds) Lucky to live close by and plays the old layout, then the new layout, the old club/shack, then the temp tent. And hopefully this spring when i push all the way up the hill. I will find a beauty clubhouse!
Great course. The views are breathless. The 17th green, standing 150yrds out...... STOP, Look, and just say nothing...... just...... you gotta see it.
Ive played this baby about 20 times, and i think i finally can play smart around this place. It seems to trick you into hitting that driver off the cliff and try and find it later. Id say 5 times you wont hit a driver off a par 4. just lay, GIR it, 2 putt, smirnoff ice and move on. haha.
Looking forward to more rounds this season at The Rise. The story is fun about Fred Couples. So ask someone to tell you about the first 4 holes.
4 stars until the clubhouse is done. Then we will see.
That just makes me want to play there even more than I already do! For me, a round of golf means appreciating the setting to the max. If I'm lucky, I'll card a handful of Pars and I'm sure I'll lose plenty of golf balls too. But I've been humbled aplenty. Played Bear Mountain once. Lost 17 golf balls. Didn't care. :)
