Only once before have I spent over $200 to play a golf course and that was Pebble Beach $500 10 years ago. Having watched the RBC Heritage on TV for many years I thought that $349 or $290 PM wasn't worth it but decided to bite the bullet and play. Good decision. TV does not do this place justice. Danny our fore caddie was excellent and really encouraged my wife. The course is immaculate and and the final 3 holes are well worth the wait but the rest of the course should not be underestimated. When you don't play that well but still fall in love with a course, you know it's special. Pete Dye Classic.

Our 4 ball was really looking forward to Aberdeen and the first 9 the Highlands was really good, unfortunately on the 2nd 9 The Meadows was really disappointing, especially the layout, conditions and pace of play.

This course reminds all of our 4 ball of Woburn Dukes which is praise indeed. The layout is excellent, challenging but fair. Smooth fast greens rewards a good putt. The starter was an idiot who tried to drag us into an argument about Donald Trump and wouldn't leave us alone on the putting green. Needless to say when he was still there when we returned, we gave him a wide birth.

We were delayed starting because the group in front arrived late for their tee time. By the middle of the front 9 they were now over 2 holes behind the group ahead. This together with the players not racking any bunkers. .. 3 of the 4 in the green side bunker on the 1st par 3 and the one who picked up the rake used it as a crutch to get out!
Clearly this is a problem on this course as theirs weren't the only foot prints.

I don't know if the greenkeepers wife had run off with his brother but most of the pin placements were vicious. This together with fast hilly greens meant the course played extremely difficult. I am used to tournament greens but my high handicap friends struggled to enjoy a beautiful course. The aim of every golf club should be to ensure every golfer feels challenged by their course but also leave it with a smile.

This isn't the toughest course you will ever play but it is really enjoyable. Staff are really good and after you get past the first few holes near the road, the course is very pretty. Good value and defdefinitely worth a play.

Course is I good condition with an interesting layout. The staff are extremely friendly and clearly take a pride in their golf course. Testing but not overly challenging. Definitely good value for money and worth a play.
