The Course at Aberdeen
Played On 08/29/2015I'm not one to be critical of people involved in the game, but . . .
. . . The Course at Aberdeen could be so much better. There are obvious flaws. The "bunkers" have no sand. You have to play off dirt/mud and contend with weeds. From what I have now read in previous reviews, the bunkers have been this way for a long time. Diagrams of the holes on the scorecard would help, especially on blind approaches. The reflectors on the pins need replacement or repair, as my laser rangefinder only worked on 4 holes. I'm sorry, but in its present condition, this is a rare course that I cannot recommend.
Warren Golf Course At Notre Dame
Played On 08/15/2015A Coore-Crenshaw Beauty
The Warren Golf Course was considered to be "too difficult" by many players in the first years of its existence. The staff listened to that critique. The golf course is more playable for the bogey golfer now, yet still a challenge for accomplished players. The greens have matured and are fast and true. The bunkers have the Coore-Crenshaw features of depth and taller grass around the edges for a real challenge. Juday Creek bisects a few fairways at an angle to make accuracy of direction a must. Players who use a cart benefit from a vastly improved GPS. Even if you are a Michigan Man or a Son of Troy, you will enjoy this home of the Fighting Irish.
