Arizona National Golf Club
Played On 11/12/2018Arizona National is Tops!
Greeted in the Pro Shop by Sean who took care of us in a friendly, professional manner. Always a good first sign!
The course and greens are in excellent shape. This RTJ JR layout is built to challenge your game. Bring some patience and a few extra balls.
Wildlife, views, vegetation all add to the overall experience. We look forward to getting back soon.
Forty-Niner Country Club
Played On 11/11/2017Excellent Shape
We played 49'er a couple of years ago...and things have really picked up! The course was hopping, the staff was welcoming and accommodating and conditions just about right. Great course to walk.
The Golf Club at Dove Mountain - Saguaro/Tortolita
Played On 11/10/2017Play it if you can...
Golf Club at Dove Mountain is a special place...all the way around. Even before you get to the course, the Sonoran desert architectural style grabs you. The design is flawless.
Course check-in is friendly and like clockwork. Practice area is over the top. Arrive early to tune your swing.
On course, expect a challenge. Nothing unfair about this course, but don't expect a Saturday at the Muni.
Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club - Ghost Creek Course
Played On 05/24/2017Great Day at Ghost Creek!
Our great round started with a golf greeting by the pro shop employee, Sebastian. He just sets you up for a great round.
It was our first time at Ghost Creek and he suggested walking--perfect. To really appreciate the setting and the course layout, Ghost needs to be walked.
Greens rolled perfectly, rough was just that and we had a grand time at Ghost. We will be back.
Tubac Golf Resort - Rancho/Otero
Played On 12/03/2016Great Day at Tubac
Our foursome teed off at noon, after a great warm-up at the great practice facilities. We played Rancho/Anza and loved the whole thing. Greens are fast but fair and the tee boxes are varied enough for everyone's level of challenge. The history and beauty of Tubac's piece of the sonoran desert is over the top.
Fred Enke Golf Course
Played On 04/07/2016Tucson's best Muni
The layout of Fred Enke is a delight. No cookie-cutter course here with monotonous side by side fairways. We love to walk Fred Enke and with just a couple of small hills, it is very walkable giving ample opportunities to see lots of wildlife and birdlife.
The greens are in excellent shape, with lots of contours. Tricky, but fair and true.
With no housing or roads nearby, it is a quiet, peaceful golf experience.
Fred Enke is a must golf and a must return.
San Ignacio Golf Club
Played On 11/07/2015San Ignacio Renaissance
Having never played SI before, we had heard it had run on hard times, been shut down and was trying to make a comeback. Well...it's back!
We played late on a Saturday. The parking lot and decks were full as there were two prior tournaments that day.
The starter and the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming...imagine that at the end of a busy day.
The course is in terrific shape. New ownership has pumped a lot of money into making a terrific golf experience. I played from the 3rd tees which made the course fun with a bit of challenge. Playing from the first or second tees would bring distance and carries in to play. Next time.
San Ignacio is back and playing like a new course. Get on over!
We appreciate the kind words as we have indeed put a lot of work into the course. Thanks for helping spread the word and we hope to see you again soon.
Skamania Lodge - The Gorge 9
Played On 05/14/2015We Love Skamania
My wife and I have played Skamania a couple of times, but not for a couple of years. We returned to Skamania for a round and rediscovered why we enjoy it so much.
We love to walk a course. Skamania is a bit of a challenge, but the natural beauty of the course and its surroundings make the walk pretty special. No houses, lots of birds, trains tooting along the Columbia, and views of the river weave together to make Skamania a special place.
It's tight...bring a few extra balls!
Silverbell Municipal Golf Course
Played On 03/11/2015Great course for the money...
My wife and I played Silverbell and had a great round. We like to walk and don't like a golf course surrounded by houses. Silverbell is perfect. Great tee selection and plenty of length if you like long. The greens are in great shape. The staff is friendly and professional. Great practice area!
Rio Rico Golf Club
Played On 03/09/2015Loved Rio Rico!
While I understand Rio Rico has has some tough years, under new management the course is on the way back, which is great to see. We love to walk and prefer a course surrounded by nature, not houses. Rio fits the bill on both. A Robert Trent Jones design from the late '60's it still has the solid bones of a well designed track. You will see lots of wildlife and birds!
The golf pro, Jane, is a top notch teacher. If you have rough edges or inconsistency in your swing, don't hesitate to work with her.
After your round, the grill is good, but you can also stop at the Espendor, the resort a short drive away. Great views from the deck!
Fred Enke Golf Course
Played On 03/05/2015Loved Fred Enke
This was our second round at Fred Enke, playing just nine holes two years ago.
What a great course and layout. Easily walkable, no houses crowding the fairways, with some distant traffic noise.
We felt the greens were challenging and in great shape. We loved the desert landscape and the birdlife and wildlife that comes right along with it.
The pro shop staff were top notch as was the starter. Why wouldn't you golf here? We are looking at our schedule to get back.
Torres Blancas Golf Club
Played On 02/28/2014Great Course to Walk!
Really enjoy walking this course! Great views of the Santa Ritas and the plains leading up to the mountains. Fairways and greens are in good shape and pace of play was good.
You are a little close to I 19 on a few holes, but that cannot be helped. Just enjoy the peace and quiet of the remainder of the course.
Sewailo Golf Club
Played On 01/23/2014Take the Sewailo Challenge!
Sewailo. Wow...Notah Begay must be be smiling in his sleep. This is a course everyone can play. Accomplished players will appreciate the complexity and the challenge of the layout from any of the five tees.
For your first time out, take a few extra balls. Water is in play and seems to occasionally lunge out for balls. All you straight hitters will own this course.
I rated pace of play at 4:15. I think it would be difficult for average golfers to play in a faster time given the challenge of the course. But, why rush it? Enjoy the sculpture and thought that went into the course.
Greens are true, massive and the best kind of golf puzzle.
No houses adorn the course. Roads are distant. Carts electric. It is a quiet place to focus on the best that golf can offer.
We will return for the challenge and the riddle of Sewailo.
Thanks Mr. Turner!! We couldn't ask for a better review. We appreciate you taking the time to do such, but most importantly we are proud you felt this way about out course and enjoyed your experience! Please say hello next time you come play!!- Casey P. Director of Golf + Sales
