Had to wait due to frosty early morning greens. Overall course was in good condition for this time of year. Added benefit: the usual pesky bugs were not out today!!

Weather was windy and intermittent rain. Rained overnight prior to round - so carts on path only. Lots of ground under repair areas. Practice range restricted to mats. Greens were not good. Greens were too long and putted like Velcro. Course needs time to recover from winter.
After battling periods of rain and wind, we gave up after 12 holes and were unable to get rain check because we bought special deal greens fees...

I expect courses to publish an aeration alert when I pay online and then make a long drive to play. I saw no alert posted on GOLFNOW. And to make matters worse, I got no warning when I signed in and when I practiced putting before the round - the practice greens were large and extremely nice with the surface fast and smooth - a far cry from the pegboard greens on the course. Greens needed to be properly sanded after aerating. VERY disappointing day on an otherwise nice course layout. Value for the money on these greens - POOR.

I played with out-of-town guest and was embarrassed to bring him to this course. Very poor conditions. I must have played a different course from the other recent reviews on this site!! A few greens had recent water lines ditched around perimeter of green and the backfill was not leveled and was full of rocks. Some greens were OK - but some were very poor - very inconsistent. Weeds overgrown. Course needs work. I do not know how they can justify charging the regular full rate greens fees for the current conditions. We even had to play thru a "golfer" hitting practice balls off the 10th tee and then hunt to find our own ball!!

Greens were rock hard and could not hold an approach shot. Greens putted fast. Never did I find a ball mark on any shots into the greens. I could not even dent the green when I hit it with the end of my putter. Fairways were also cut way too tight and drives routinely rolled into the rough due to any slight amount of fairway slope. This course played very very unforgiving and "different" from any course I have played. I did not enjoy this type of golf game and was very disappointed. Played in last group of the day (2:06 PM tee time) and was locked into the cart parking area.

We arrived early to warm up and were informed the starter was on time and we might even get off early, We ended up starting 20 minutes later than our tee time and had to sit at 1st tee for 40 minutes while no one was started in front of us!!! Starter was told by a woman in the pro shop that we could not start early. They seemed to be waiting on a group with a tee time just ahead of us who never showed up. No one in charge seemed to know what was going on. VERY frustrating to have to sit and watch an empty tee box for so long while there were 2 or 3 groups behind us also waiting as we were all delayed past our reserved tee times!!
Course was OK - but pro shop experience results in low rating

Back 9 very difficult layout with some gimmick holes and cart path only holes leading to slow play issues.
Major bug problem. For the money, course should supply bug spray !!

Rough was tall and thick and easy to lose ball.
Strange course maintenance - green sand repair in ball marks only around the hole location. Greens were generally large and in good condition. Hole should have been located away from repaired areas...Some rough areas had excessive mowed grass piles - again very easy to lose ball.

Round took over 5 hours to complete. Started round out badly with 3 groups on 2nd hole (par 3) and never got any better. Par 5's had 4 groups backed up on each hole. Finally called clubhouse on 14th tee and got poor response with no indicated desire to speed up play. All it takes is to have a ranger come out and identify the slow play culprits and require the slow group(s) to skip a hole (or 2) to speed things up!!
Later sent 2 follow-up emails to course on slow play issues and never rec'd any kind of reply - so I decided to go ahead and submit this negative review anyway.
This is way too nice of a course to be managed so poorly with no concern for customer service...shame.

Greens in super shape. Always fun to play this historic resort. Very friendly resort staff. Golf view rooms perfect for golfers. Golfnow deal great value.
