WORTH THE DRIVE. Honestly never heard of the course as it doesn't make the best courses in Iowa list. But it should. It is very nice. Well cared for and certainly worth the drive to play.

I agree with the review from 2018. It is a tough Lay out if you never played it. A lot of blind shots. A Lot of Weeds in the bunkers. A Lot of Crab Grass. Not the Destination Course I thought it would be.

It was extremely slow until some groups let us play through.
You can tell the course has fallen upon tough times. For $50 in small town Iowa you expect way better.

If you play any mid 90's course they all seem to be the same. Easy to play, no real character and designed to be used for scramble's and high volume of players.

The course was packed we started about 15 minutes late.
Greens are typical public course and are slower than i am used to.
Overall.... The guys I was with loved the place. They liked the huge driving range.
I was less then excited about it. But I like the old courses with a fast greens lots of charm.

Great course for locals ... probably not a destination course never going to hos a US open. But great for a RedOak Open.. Hey if your in the area stop by and play. You certainly wont regret it.

I disagree with the other reviewer. First this course is a city owned Muni. It is not a resort course. So yes there is clover and some weeds. But the greens are excellent condition.

It has NO sand bunkers and for some reason the course can play easy. Yet very enjoyable. Fun round every time.

I find it impossible to believe that this is the only course MW Tucker designed. Wish I knew that story.

Probably one of the Easier Larry Packard Designed courses i have played. Not a lot of big hills or tilted fairways. Not even an S shaped PAR 5 which was his trade mark.

It is a good Municipal course. Nothing fancy. Not a resort. No great scenery, just golf. Yes it has clover and crab grass on it. The greens roll pure.

One thing I realized today that is common to all the Larry Packard courses I have played is the use of Honey Sickle Trees. They grow fast but the big pods stink on a golf course. But every Packard course has them and seldom do you see them on any other golf course.

Benson probably gets a higher review than it deserves but i confess i am in love with the course. If your an Omaha golf person you understand what Benson means to the Golf Community.

Any how the greens are great, The course is tough to walk in places.

Since Larry Packard designed it you know it is tough. Worth playing and recommend it to everyone who is looking for a great muni to play..

A lot of golf in a little area. Great old course. The greens are super small. Tough to putt. The fair ways are narrow. We had balls wizing by us all day.

I really enjoyed the place but didn't play well. It is the kind of place you need to play a few times before you can do well.

I hope to be back soon.

I have played here dozens of times. It can be a tough track. They put bunkers on every hole and put one on each side of the fairway the same distance i hit my driver.

That said... The people are super nice that run it.
Well Taken care of. They have 27 holes and will be hosting the Web.com tour next month.

top Shelf. Better than most Country clubs. It probably is a 5 star experience but I save those for courses that just blow me away....

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.. I WILL BE BACK MANY MORE TIMES.

I can not believe no one else has reviewed this course. as it is very busy..

Haven't played here since 2009. The rough is like my back yard with Clover and Crab Grass except shorter. The Fair ways looked pretty good.

The greens are awesome. They are fairly slow but they play like a funnel everything moves to the hole. It is great i scored -1. and I know I ain't that good.

This is the classic 90's style course built for the sole purpose of building a Neighborhood around it.

Not a special place. But certainly if you got some buds. go have fun enjoy it. But when your done realize.. You ain't that good.

This place was awesome. The club house looked like it was built in 1800's though it may not of been. Preserved in classic style.

They did not take my money inside. Rather they have a lock box on the first tee to put your money in. Yes that is the honor system.

The place was so quiet you could hear your ball hit the green. On one hole a spotted deer and 2 babies ran in front of me.

ya not ever going to see the Us Open here. But it is great to know places like this still exist.

The course is 9 holes built in 1949 classic small town design...

I left here thinking Gee, i scored great and enjoyed myself. Front 9 is easy to walk. Back nine a little more hilly.

Not a Pebble Beach just a good local course.

Greens are slower but in great shape. Omaha has someone on staff who really understands how to take care of Bent Grass.

Only about 6100 yds from the Tips. A good place to play if you want an affordable day. I used to take my son here when he was young kid he always had fun.

This is a good 9 hole course. nothing flashy here. Great place to bring the kids.

Easy to Walk.

FIRST OFF DONT TAKE A CART. It is a very short par3 18 hole course.

I have taken both my boys here and we have had a great time. I don't go there expecting PGA tour conditions. It looks like my yard with Greens put in. They are very slow.

But you take a son or Daughter suddenly life has just changed.. It is great..

The course is good

What i remember about the course is the layout. It weaves through the City park. On one hole it has a Tank. Very Cool

The most memorable part is the guy who runs the place. He has to be the nicest humans alive. I played here 3 times and he is always in a great mood and makes you feel like family..

UN-BELIEVABLE..... it is awesome. If it was 18 holes it would be a destination course. I absolutely was amazed. Great Greens, Bent grass Fairways. Super Condition. Great club house.

What amazes me is it was designed by D. A. Weibring. You can't find it on the score card or their Website. They need to market that..

I played a lot of small town course. This one is a notch above. Not on pebble Beach level but better than the average Small town course.

Clubhouse is very impressive. Views are sweet.

My complaints are the greens are too slow for me. It plays back and forth a lot. And mostly on a couple holes someone thought it a good idea to plant a tree right in front of the tee box. On hole 9 you have maybe 8 feet to hit the ball through.

not sure its a destination location. But I would not be ashamed to play it every day. Its a fun course.

Tight unforgiving. The whole place is well taken care of and the staff is great. Above average.

I played twice and it can be slow at times. However, you can just enjoy being there.

There are a lot of tight tee shots and most people will lose 6-10 balls on the course.

Got to say 3 holes in i realized what a great design the course was. Really brilliant. Fun design. Better Design than Lake panorama.

Greens are in great shape. Could use a little help with weed control. However, I am there to play golf not Horticulture. Bunkers are typical rough sand

Stopped here while in the area for business. I was very impressed with the layout. They have a creek that runs though it and they did a nice job really putting it to use.
