DO NOT PLAY EAGLE MOUNTAIN

Pros: staff is friendly and efficient. Tee boxes are level and actually have grass.
Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE! This course is in terrible condition. Fairways and rough have huge areas where the grass is GONE! The bunkers have no sand in the bottoms and ankle deep sand in the faces. THE GREENS ARE GONE: they are basically bare dirt that has been painted green.

We played this course a couple of years ago and loved it. I wish I had read reviews before playing today. We paid $100 each to play Eagle Mountain and it isn't worth even $20!
Save your money and do not play Eagle Mountain! They should shut the course down until they get things back in shape.

Worth it!

Pros: Pace of play was great. Greens have tiers and undulations but rolled true. Staff (especially the starter, Doc) were extremely friendly and helpful. Fairways and rough were in good shape. The golf shop provides a course layout card with yardages to water, bunkers, etc. This was very useful because carts do not have GPS. Patio seating afterward had fans and misters!
Cons: Bunker "sand" was crusty on top and extremely wet underneath. Par 3s were rather short but the greens made them still challenging.

Front and Back are totally different

Pros: Course was in great condition. Played in less than 4 hours. We saw the Drink cart multiple times on each nine. Greens rolled true.
Course is walkable, altho it's a hike from 10 to 11 and from 17 to 18. GPS on carts.
Cons: front and back nines are like playing two different courses. There wasn't a flow. The front nine is wide open, grip it and rip it. The back nine was tight, blind shot, target golf.
Also, the driving range was closed for maintenance.

Typical public course

Pros: large greens with challenging undulations. Walkable. No blind shots. Decent bunkers.
Cons: some fairways and most of the rough were not in great shape, but this may be due to time of year with Bermuda not kicking in its growth yet. There is not a GPS system in the carts. We waited on every shot, and finished the round in 4 1/2 hours.

For the price, there are much better courses in the area.

Great condition

Pros: course was in really good condition. Greens were fast, rough and fairway were weed free, tee boxes were mostly level. Carts have touch GPS system.
Cons: range balls weren't included in the fee. We played at noon on a Thursday and we waited on every tee box. BUT, we still finished the round in 4 hours and 15 minutes.

Worth the drive

Cochiti was recommended by staff at other courses we played in Albuquerque, and we are glad they did!
The course layout is challenging. My husband played the golf tees and I played the white tees. While you need to be straight off the tee, the holes are fair.
Fairways were decent. Greens are good sized and rolled well although a bit slow. Tee boxes were pretty ragged but most were recently aerated.
Elevation changes and amazing views!
While we played in 4 1/2 hours, the pace was slow with 2 groups waiting on each tee box. The starter told us that there was a "player assist cart" that monitors pace of play, but we never saw it!
Overall enjoyable course and worth the 50 min drive!

Decent value

This course is decent for the price. The greens are large and rolled true. Be sure to note whether you are putting with or against the grain! Fairways were decent although we noticed a lot of dandelions growing. Fairways are generous as are the roughs. Some of the tee boxes were in bad shape, but that didn't really affect our play.
Pace of play was good for a Friday afternoon-4 hours. Pro shop staff was friendly and the beverage cart girl was great!
GPS in the cart was nice as there are some ditches that cross fairways. Enjoyable course, though not overly challenging.

Highly recommend

Played the course the day after it held a US Open qualifier. The greens were fast and the rough was thick! The course is in great shape! Lots of changes in elevation, huge greens. The pro shop staff and starter were friendly and helpful in recommending other courses in the area. Will definitely play here again the next time we're in town.

Frustratingly slow pace

We played Cattail on a Saturday and what a mistake! It took us 4:50 to play even tho the Marshall assured us that everyone was on pace. When we finally reached the par 4 #18, there was a group on the green, a group in the fairway, and two groups on the tee!
The course was in excellent shape with over seeding everywhere.
I wish I could say that we’ll be back, but the pace was unacceptable for the price.

Average course

The layout isn’t bad and isn’t great. Conditions were marginal maybe because we were in between overseed and Bermuda growth? There are many other courses in the area that are better for the price

We're sorry to hear that your experience was anything short of 5 stars. Most golfers at Lone Tree Golf Club find us to be a great value. We hope you'll give us a chance to exceed your expectations in the near future.

Great course!

This was the best course we played this week. Scenery is amazing. Pace of play was perfect. Staff was friendly too. Be sure to check out the swimming dog (Buddy) by the ladies tee on #7.

Gorgeous views, decent course

This course is worth playing. It has beautiful views and is a decent challenge. There was some Poana on the greens but they rolled true. Note: the yardages to the ravines don’t take into account that the last 50-70yards is all downhill! We would definitely enjoy this course more the second time now that we have a little local knowledge.
Pace of play was awful until the Marshall broke up a slow playing group finally on the backside, and we ultimately played in 4:30
The snack area is closed on Mondays and the course doesn’t have a liquor license! We were told that the license has been applied for?

It all looks the same

While the course was in good condition and the pace of play was great, we won’t play here again. Every hole seemed the same, and there are too many holes that take Driver out of your hands.
