Such a fun course and those greens are fast and pure. Reasonable rates and just a short drive from the I-Drive area.

Pace of play was a touch on the slow side but man is this course pure. Perfect conditions, no oversees, greens are smooth and quick. Superintendent deserves a raise for the outstanding condition of the course.

Love the layout. This property was meant to have a golf course on it but, consistently the pace of play is bad. We waited on every shot through 6 holes. Get to 7 and there’s 5 groups including us on this hole. No ranger to keep pace up. It never improved until we got by a three some playing out of 2 bags, one guy in cowboy boots hitting multiple balls off tees. Course is in decent condition. Several greens have areas that have been resodded so I would imagine come spring time the transition will be tough. But it’s such a fun course.

Love this course. Great layout great conditioning. However, there was a foot dragger playing in front of me. Every dang hole you could see where he drug his or her spikes around the hole. Tapped down numerous marks on every green. Take care of the course people and pick up your dang feet.

Tee boxes and fairways were nice. Greens speed is slow and several of them are showing lots of stress. Greens were great in May but now several of them are struggling. Still love the layout and hoping the greens get turned around.

Played this afternoon in the heat in 2 hours and 20 minutes. Went off as a solo and played thru a twosome on the second hole. Didn’t slow down until I got behind a twosome on 12. Course is in great shape. Greens rolled nice and fairways were great. Great course at a great value.

First time here and I loved it. The first 6-7 holes were ok then the fun began on 8. Played 203 into a stiff breeze over the marsh. Then the tee shot on 9 is a brute. Enjoyed the entire back 9. Greens rolled smooth but slow. The property is beautiful with all the oak trees. It’s a 3 hour ride fro my house but, I will be back.

It’s been several years since I last played here and while I don’t remember the course being in supreme condition it was better than it is right now. Lots of thin areas on several fairways. Greens were okay and were a touch on the quick side. I will be back but hopefully they have a fantastic growing season and get the Bermuda back in the fairways and tee boxes.
Course isn’t difficult and pace of play was pretty good today.

It has been many years since I last played Silverthorn and the thing I recall the most from my previous rounds here was the conditioning of the course. My how times have changed and not for the better. Tee boxes and fairways were sparse at best and where there was bermuda it had not been mowed in awhile. I assume for fear of losing what little grass they had left. The greens were bumpy and had lots of grain. Such a disappointment from the condition the course used to be in. Maybe they will have a good growing season and be able to recover the course by fall. The superintendent has his work cut out for him.

No tee times required just show up and play. This Country Club with emphasis on country is the only golf course within a 30 mile radius. Nothing spectatcular just straight forward golf with a couple holes that may challenge you but easy enough to shoot a low round. A tip for putting the greens. Do not give the hole away. Putts dont break much at Chiefland. Also the greens are consistently slow. Course stays in good shape. For the money and not needing a tee time make this course a attractive choice for someone looking to get in a quick round.
