Great Track

We couldn't have asked for a better day for golf. The sun was shining and the course was in good shape save for the greens which were still a little bumpy and sandy from them being punched. But for $45 it was a great value. The fairways and tee boxes were in spectacular shape and the staff is always very friendly. The course is challenging but it rewards good shots off the tee where you can score.

Great Value!

The course was in pretty decent condition considering that some of the fairways had been punched. Even with that, the course was fun to play and in very good shape. I've always enjoyed the layout of this course because it is not a cookie cutter course. It blends in just enough of desert golf to make it somewhat of a target golf course without making it too difficult for hackers like myself. The greens were in very good shape and for $18 the price can't be beat! The staff is always nice and the carts and cart paths are in great shape. So nice to get out there and play a 3 hour round in the middle of the week.

This course has gone downhill...

Arizona National now leaves a lot to be desired. Once one of the finer courses in Tucson, it is now a shell of itself. Never did I think that I would describe the fairways there as hard and dry but that is exactly what they are. The greens are still in fantastic shape, as are the tee boxes but hitting off the fairways is like trying to hit off of cement. Get ready for a lot of thin lies if you play here because it is virtually impossible to hit good iron approach shots with any sort of divot. Although I can't complain about a $29 rate on a 70 degree afternoon in February with gorgeous views of the city and mountains, I'd gladly pay twice that for fairways that are lush and green.

Also, the fact that they do not have a starter at the first tee box to keep the pace going was a huge problem, as groups got behind on the schedule, resulting in us teeing off 20 minutes after we were scheduled and the round being over 5 hours long. It was a grind to say the least.
