Used to play here a lot. Our course away from home.

Hoping brand new management works the course back a bit.

Pros: very nice layout. Staff seemed friendly. Nice and quiet

Cons: much of the extensive bunkering that made this look beautiful has been filled in over the last two years... Real shame. Greens too slow for my liking. Tee boxes need work. Not sure if they roll the greens but they should. Had ground staff following us all day raking bunkers etx. Have grounds crews work backwards so same people don't have to hear them all day and tell them that with ear plugs and music playing that they are loud when we are putting.

A beautiful course and will come back and see how the brand new management gets things going. Its a bit of a drive, but if the price is right and new mgmt does its thing it can be a very nice course again.

Greens were fast and true!!
Fairways were great.
Staff very friendly with a special shout out to Victor outside.

Last day of February. Course was in nice shape. Pro shop staff extremely friendly.

Greens are dead - and I do mean dead. Few tufts of grass here and there but that was it. So much so that asked a couple guys driving by that worked there if there was new ownership or financial troubles. Said their water pump broke for 9 days and greens died.

Other big problem I noticed was the bunkers - most were just packed clay. No sand. That was just poor maintenance.

A real shame because the course was very pretty and could probably play pretty tough if it was in shape to play a real round - but it wasn't.

Had not played it before... was trying to decide which tees to play. I didn't play the back tees and so glad I didn't. It was a super hot day and I had all the challenge I needed where I hit from. Some blind shots makes the first round there a little extra challenging I think.
Course was nicely maintained. Greens could have used a little bit extra work if I wanted to be picky. Got a great price on Golf Now and have no complaints whatsoever with the value we received because of the deal.
Course has a neat promo on - your first small beer costs what you shoot... so shoot 85 and pay 85 cents... staff were super friendly. I will go back when in the area. In fact, liked it so much may take a golfing vacation out michigan way and play a few courses out there.

We had purchased a few days early and unfortunately the weather turned on us. Cold, windy and a bit of drizzle when we started. Course was in good shape. Greens were fast with some subtle breaks. Wind didn't help.
Fair, challenging course. Fairly open - real trouble when the wind started howling and couple balls lost in the deep grass - just couldn't find them. On a nice day would be a real nice course to play. Don't know about the full price - but totally worth playing if you get a nice deal.

I would have been disappointed if we had paid full price - but for the price we paid with the deal on Golf Now - it was good.

The grass was very very dormant and almost bare in some spots - no rough to speak of.

Very few people playing in the pm when we played - so pace of play was great.

I can't complain about the course for the price we paid on GolfNow hot deals - but I will say as we were leaving the course there was a foursome VERY MAD at the course staff and wanting to speak to a mgr that wasn't there. The gist was that they were very upset at the course condition (they had paid full rate).

If I had paid full price for the round I also would have been quite upset and also would have looked for a mgr as well.

Greens were brutal - no indication at all before booking that they had been aerated. Grass was very dormant and brown and thin.

Staff seemed unfriendly to me.

With all the choices of golf in the area - probably would recommend going somewhere else.

Unfortunately, greens had been aerated in previous weeks and had not grown in - so greens were in very rough shape. I am sure when they are grown in though that they would be good.

Iron only driving range - woods hit into net - FYI.

Lots of opportunity to get in trouble on this course with forest lining all fairways. Not much water at all to worry about. Lots of elevation changes and challenging bunkers. Didn't find any real holes you could let up on - especially if pin locations are tough.

A good challenge... if you want a mindless relaxing round then maybe pick a different course until you want this challenge.

Had a great price. If you want a trip of golf AND get an amazing deal then you get out and hit some balls. But if you pay too much for a round here you will be disappointed.

If you HAVE to pick one course or the other - I personally would play the Legends course. I played Legends yesterday and like it so much wanted to play Champions.
Champions is not an easy course by any means (guys we were playing with were really struggling) but it is much more forgiving and open than Legends with few forced carries.
All but the very worst tee shots were in play in some manner (not so on Legends).
Had great days on both courses - especially with the GolfNow deals we got. Enjoy.

Liked it so much I booked to play the sister Champions course for today.

Nice course is pretty good shape. Weather was supposed to be bad the day I booked - so pretty fast round without a lot of people out.
I personally found the green pretty tough. They seemed quite large with a LOT of slope to them. Pin placements (along with apparent user error) on a few holes made three putts unfortunately too common.
I would go back.

Very nice course. Would not pay full price as pace of play has been an issue the few times I have played there. Nice course with some good challenges from different tee lengths.
They have an afternoon reply program and the times I have played has been in the afternoon and got very jammed up and took away from this decent course.
If you get a decent rate on golf now it is well worth playing. If you are in the area and don't get a decent rate then go to Royal St. Cloud or go 15 or 20 minutes east to Harmony.
