Grow green grass, not spread tan sand

Sandskeeper spreads coarse sand on greens about 3 times per month. Punches, aerates, verticuts, dyes, poisons, and fertilizes many times per year. 50% of the time the greens are bad because he has torn them up. Silica as no nutritional value, plus it gets hot in the Texas heat and bakes the blades and roots. One thinks the grass is healthier because of the green dye sprayed on the greens and collars. Sand has not been put in bunkers for at least a year-and-a-half, and after rain the bottoms are a blackish clay. It is almost like the sandskeeper is saying if I tear up the greens then I will maintain my job repairing them. Let Mother Nature work!
