Very Dissapointed

1st - Course Condition. They aerated the greens 3/25, so they were still a little bumpy and sandy, but honestly they were the best part of the entire course. The only green on the fairways and tee boxes were weeds. The winter must have been very hard on their grass. The course needs A LOT of grass seed and sod to fix areas that are flat out unplayable.

2nd - Course Layout. Too many holes play the same for me (blue tees). 200 yard long iron off the tee, then short iron in. Most of the par 5's play similar. Shorter tee shot, with the majority of the yardage played after dog leg in 2nd and/or 3rd shot. 3 of the 5 par 3's are 165-175 yards. I only hit driver off the tee twice the entire round.

What you'd expect from a Municipal Course

Course my was in decent shape for early spring. Fairway grass was a little long and they had just aerated & sanded the tee boxes. Greens were firm and in good shape. Two very different 9's between the front and back. Course was very busy which resulted in 5+ hr round and extended waits at every tee box, backing up 2 & 3 groups at a time.

Quirky Links Course

I play here a lot. It is a unique layout which requires shots from every club in your bag. Several sharp dog legs and hazard placements force you to place tee shots to a certain distances rather than bomb driver off of every tee box. The only Par 5 that is legitimately reachable in 2 is #18. The others all have hazards that eat up drives on all but the luckiest shots. After learning to play to the fat part of the fairways, you can score pretty well here. The course is usually in pretty good shape.

Fun Par 3 - Good short game practice

This course is my go to practice facility. The par 3 layout is very good for short game practice and dialing in your scoring clubs. Greens are usually in great shape. The tee boxes see the most abuse and a few need work, #9 most notably. For $15 you can walk as many holes as you want. The front 9 is shorter with most holes in the 110-125 yard range. The back 9 stretches out a little more with several 165-190 yard par 3's.
