Silverado - Work In Process

Nice course, and an enjoyable layout. You have to become familiar with it as there are several hazards that criss-cross the fairways, and you won’t know they are coming up until you have already hit into them.

There is some construction work, going on next to several holes, and even some relayout work being done on a few holes. So my reservation in giving it a higher rating was the noise of construction truck backup warning signals, and redirected golf cart paths that go nowhere. In general, the cart paths could use some maintenance. But focusing on the golf itself, it is an enjoyable round of golf for the value.

Staff in the Pro Shop and especially the restaurant / bar where very friendly, and polite when we had a few questions. Great staff all around.

Foster CC

Nice course with reasonable obstacles and challenges. Enjoyable round of golf. Back 9 is a little daunting with doglegs through narrow openings through the woods. The 15th hole requires a precise and long tee shot over water, between trees, to reach the dogleg and have a shot at the green. These few holes are a challenge.

Quail Hollow Golf

Course has an enjoyable layout and room for some forgiving shots. While there is some water throughout the course, generally it can be avoided and not to challenging to carry for the average golfer. Be aware that the course is scheduled to close at the end of May, and so there is quite a bit of “non-golf” related activity going on at times. We experienced to separate rounds where a hole or two were closed due to soil samples or surveying going on. There are now MANY (hundreds) of small flags marking off areas, sometimes directly accross a fairway. It appears that ongoing maintanence might be scaled back and management of the course winds down, and the greens are starting to show lack of attention and care. With all of that said, playing a round here is still enjoyable and well worth the fees for golfer plus cart. I will continue to play around here occasionally as my foursome does enjoy the course layout. Let’s hope that at least minimal maintenance continues through May to make that possible. Give it a try!
