River Falls Plantation
Played On 10/29/2015Great Course
Every hole is different and carved out of the terrain all by itself. Some holes had lengthy treks between greens and tee boxes. Lots of elevation changes, some blind shots. Strategic plays of the tee, but not a total target type course where you have to meter each shot. Some fairways narrow, but in general landing areas were fair. Love to play this again.
Watertown Golf Club
Played On 06/05/2014Great " walk in the park" but greens are on the mend.
Great views, situated in park above the city. Fairways, tee boxes, ball washers, benches, landscaping, markers, all well maintained and picturesque. Fairly generous fairways, no punishing rough, no water or carries and limited bunkers. Unfortunately all greens suffered 20 to 30% areas of loss (no grass). Apparently on the mend as the balance of green surfaces were just fine. FYI this course does not return to clubhouse until hole 18.
Turtle Creek Golf Club
Played On 03/10/2014Busy course, lots of water.
Water everywhere, some visible from the tee, some not. Many narrow tight fairways. The back was more forgiving and and secluded (less parallel fairways). Greens were in great shape and rolled well. Played the tips, and did not seem that long.
Viera East Golf Club
Played On 03/05/2014One of the nicer ones!
Excellent facility. Everything from pro shop, to restrooms, to the cafe, to the course itself was very well maintained. Greens were in great shape and rolled true. Fair amount of challenges with bunkers and water. Set in a developement, but not sandwiched in so tightly one had to play from backyards. I'll definitely return, especially, when specials are found. They also have a great replay rate !
Canajoharie Country Club
Played On 11/14/2013Lots of elevation changes on this hilltop course with great views.
Course was in great shape for late Fall play. Greens were dressed but still very playable. Layout was wide open with many adjoining fairways. Lots of elevation changes, doglegs and only a couple narrow fairways. Overall minimal, trouble on this hilltop course with great views and a fair amount of wind.
Conklin Players Club
Played On 11/06/2013None Better!
Even well past the normal season, the course is in excellent condition. Great greens, manicured fairways, variety of holes designs, all kept clear of normal fall debris. A worthwile value at regular prices, a great value at Golf Now discounts. For all these reasons, my favorite public course in upstate New York.
Timber Banks Golf Club & Marina
Played On 10/22/2013PGA quality type course.
Scenic, professionally maintained, PGA quality type course. Plenty of challenges with bunkers, water, rough, and carries. Greens are large, quick and have extreme undulations. Not a course for beginners. Regular fees are higher than most in the area, but the course is that much better. Grab any Hot Deals available, and you won't be dissappointed!
The Inn At Pocono Manor - East Course
Played On 05/02/2013Plain vanilla, slightly lengthy, but wide open and well maintained.
Nicely maintained, decent greens. Each hole is carved out of tree lined woods with wide open fairways. No traps, no water. no carries.Kind of plain vanilla, except a little lengthy on par 4's and 3's requireing longer than usual approach shots. Good course for early in season or mixed foursomes.
Hell's Point Golf Club
Played On 10/18/2012Some sneaky hazards
Some fairways are narrow with woods or water hazards; challenging but playable. Frequently, adjoining fairways appear to have open tree borders, only to find sneaky little ditches that gobble up anything trying to roll thru.Fairways and tees were in good shape, but greens were generally pock marked. I suspect this course doesn't dry out real fast as there were several wet areas.
The Club At Viniterra
Played On 10/17/2012Challenging but fair.
Picturesque layout, each hole is carved out by itself without adjacent fairways or houses everywhere. Long rides on concrete paths and wooden bridges between greens and tees, not a great course to walk. Heavily bunkered but generally wide landing areas, with numerous elevation changes. Excellent practice facilities. Absence of a ranger allowed for some slow play to mar the afternoon, but definitly a must play again.
Shattuck, The
Played On 09/24/2012scenic, but plunishing
Forget your driver, this is target golf. With dense woods and thick marshes, your in the fairway, or digging for more balls. Greens are decent, but everything else is sparse on grass. Not the place for novices or golfers expecting great scores. Most bearable when you have secured a deep discount tee time.
Thank you MeyerJD for taking the time to review our course. We're glad that you enjoyed the layout, and we hope to see you again very soon!
