Canyon/Lakes at Spanish Trail Country Club
Played On 07/15/2018Excellent country club in a convenient location
Joined this country club recently, and am so glad I did. The Junior Executive membership is an excellent deal. It's a convenient straight shot down Tropicana from my work so it's a rare that I'm unable to fit in at least 9 holes. Being able to play every day has improved my game considerably. There is no shortage of excellent clubs in Clark County, of course, but if Spanish Trail is convenient for you then there's no need to join a more far-flung club.
There are three different 9-hole courses that can be played in different combinations to create three 18 hole courses. The Canyon/Lakes combo is my favorite and the most challenging, but don't sleep on Sunrise either; it's still quite challenging and scenic, especially the 9th hole. The tee boxes are well-placed; a beginner will have a great time playing from the greens and an experienced golfer will find shooting the tips quite challenging.
The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. Hard to single out any specific person because everyone has immaculate customer service 100% of the time. The other club members have been invariably friendly and welcoming
From reading the reviews it seems the club was briefly open to the public, apparently to its detriment. It's private again, and the problems stemming from increased foot traffic are now non-existent. The fairways and greens are in impeccaple condition. If solitude is your thing, this is your place. Once in a while I'll see another player/group on the course but it happens so rarely as to be remarkable.
As this is once again a private club, you'll need to be accompanied by a member. If you're presented with the opportunity to play here, don't pass it up. And if you have time, play all 27 holes.
