This is 3rd time I have played at course after rains. Apparently it doesn’t drain very well?? 7 holes were cart path only, but even the others not marked were extremely wet. Balls would plug. Greens were awesome though!!
Christmas Eve so play was slow. 4 1/2 hours to play round.
As usual, staff was great! I always enjoy playing here.

I’m never disappointed whenever I play this course! Staff is always helpful and courteous, course layout is challenging, especially the par 3’s, which average about 175 - 180 yds from white tees, but you are rewarded when you hit a good shot (greens were in excellent condition).
Bunkers were in rough shape the day I played, really wet and had packed sand, but this area had a tremendous amount of rain recently, including a 1 hour downpour on the day I played.
Compared to the higher priced resort courses nearby, Glen Lakes measures up nicely and it doesn’t cost a small fortune to play!

The day I played was after heavy thunderstorm and 2-3” of rain. Driving range was closed, Bunkers were completely out of play with washed out sand, plus several bunkers still had standing water. A few fairways also had some standing water, so play was cart path only.
Despite these conditions the course played very well, and my twosome played in 3 hours! Course had an extremely friendly and courteous beverage cart attendant (young girl) that made her way around on a regular basis. Marshals also came around regularly to check on our pace of play.
We had a very relaxed and pleasant round of golf today. I’m from out of town but I’m definitely going to include this course on my next visit to Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Pace of play was NOT what I expected. Took
4 1/2 - 4:45 hours! Play came to a halt on entire 2nd nine with no Marshall in sight! 3 groups on every hole (overbooked??)

Played in gloomy weather, 53 degrees and cool. However, pace of play was great PLUS - course had a beverage cart today!

Pace of play was excellent until hole 14. I caught up to a fivesome (on a Wednesday morning) and I waited on next 3 holes- they averaged more than 20 minutes per hole. I finally had to skip a hole to finish my round. A Marshall was working the course, but apparently fivesomes are permitted ??

Greens recently “punched”. Large sections of greens had thick sand, making it difficult to putt or Chip. Fairways were playable, but the rough had not been cut in a few days. Pro shop told me their equipment was not in working condition, but was being repaired.
Overall though course layout was good, views of the gulf was awesome on front nine, and the staff / snack bar was very friendly!
Bottom line, once greens heal and rough areas trimmed - this would be a very nice course to play! I will definitely play it again!!!
