Pretty tough course, but fair. Greens slower than expected them to be... not a bad thing however. They were in good shape. Only disappointment , in my opinion were the fairways. It’s obvious they have cut back on water.. tough to find any good grass when you do hit the fairway with a drive. I would recommend the course to a friend, but not until the fairways are improved.

I really enjoyed playing the course. It was in good condition.. fairways nice.. greens a nice pace. Don’t stray too far off though as out of bounds are on nearly every hole. Would definitely play it again! Nice putting and chipping facility although the driving range was heavily used and hard to find some good green grass. Rate through Golf Now was amazing. Also enjoyed the community of houses that the course wove through.
Ventana Canyon - Canyon Course

Just moved to the Tucson area a couple of months ago. Obviously, very hot here in the summer, so I’ve been playing some courses that are out of my budget during the rest of the year. Ventana Canyon is my favorite so far. I played the Mountain Course. Very playable,, although I am a senior citizen and played from the silver tees. Fairways are being aerated and greens have been sanded, so didn’t get to see how the greens might have been under normal conditions. People very friendly and accommodating. Course rate was very good, but then again it was 105 degrees out there. I will definitely play the course again, and recommend it to anyone.

Really enjoyed the course. Very fair... not target golf. Greens and fairways in good shape despite no rain. Will definitely come again!

Really enjoyed the golf course! First time playing it...some have said it was not in good condition not too long ago. They are definitely putting some money into it... with a new driving range as well. That is not done yet. Some spectacular holes with awesome views. Challenging course, but it does not beat you up... playable if you are semi- straight. Will definitely go back again! Thanks!
The Country Club at Soboba Springs

Enjoyed my round...Hope rates don’t go up when the casino is finished. Drove an hour to get there...well worth it! Thanks! More green grass than I am used to...also more water! Sand traps were beautiful... just not to be in. Greens were in good shape, but not particularly fast.
Legends Golf Club

I have played the Legends course now a few times. Upon arriving I was told we would be playing the back nine twice due to green aeration. That was ok, but I was definitely told that Golf Now should have told me. Maybe it was there, I just didn’t see it. As for the course itself, it appears to me that it has been let go some. Maybe more Monet has been put into the school aspect of the course than the course itself. The tee boxes were rugged at best, the “sand” traps were concrete dirt, and the fairways...let’s just say I didn’t mind improving my lie. The greens were definitely the best kept part of the course... I would rate them as average. There was no cart person, and they have done away with the practice chipping and sand area...probably good since there is no sand! The course layout is not bad, in my opinion, with the potential of some very pretty holes. Range balls were quite worn... nothing like the balls you might get at the Murietta driving range...and again you hit off mats, with no tees for using woods. You had to buy those! I understand the lack of water during these times, but I think they could definitely improve things if they want more golfers to play there.
I played the course the same day, I also booked my time through golfnow and there is a aeration alert if you take the time to look,it is also on your email confirmation the course is much improved from several years ago. I don't get why people have to post these types of reviews and just can't go and enjoy the day.

I really enjoyed playing at soboba. The course was in great shape. The people at the course were friendly. Not many were playing so the person I was playing with and myself were not pressured by anyone. I suspect that might be due to 4 or 5 of the holes were temporary due to casino construction and new holes being made. I hear the new holes will be finished sometime in June in which I definitely will return. I just hope the rates go up too much as a result. The course was very fair, fairways in great shape, and greens, good. There were definitely enough shots where my mind said do I really want to go for it, or play it safe! Also, of note, I had not seen so much green grass since I moved from Oregon a few years ago. It also looks like the casino will be very nice! Yes, I would recommend this course. I am approx. a 12 handicap golfer.
We're glad you enjoyed the course, JPB. Thanks for leaving us a review! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
