The golf course was amazing and fun to play. It will be challenging for the average golfer. The resort/course did not have the atmosphere of some of the other resorts in the area. The people were not very welcoming when we first arrived. We basically paid our money and were told to go golf. Drinks and food are very expensive for what we received. The beverage cart person who was covering both courses was on top of her game ,though. She found us multiple times through out the round and was very friendly. I would play this course again but there are others in the area that I will try first.

Even though it was raining the course remained firm and playable. The greens were in outstanding shape. This course has many changes in evaluation which adds to its mystic. The views are incredible. This is a course me and my friends will play again. The price is great for this well groomed course. I would call this course a hidden gem for Kalkaska, Michigan.

I have played this course several times with having a cottage near by. I keep returning because I can not find a better course in the area for the price. Pace of play has always been good especially if you get out in the early morning. The staff is always friendly and greets you graciously.
The course appears to always be in great shape. As other have noted, Timber Wolf has some of the best greens in the area. I enjoy the seclusion of not seeing other golfer on other holes and the views are great. This hole is fun and challenging for the average golfer.
The only item I would see as draw back is their food and beverage service. Many times there is only one person working the counter and food/beverage. It take a little bit of time to get your order. I always call ahead before the turn so there are typically no issues.
I would recommend this course to anyone that enjoys a nice local course and a great value.

I am an intermediate level golfer. This course was challenging but very fun. I have to say it is the most fun I have had playing golf and not scoring well. The scenery was amazing. The amenities were top notch. I have played Spyglass Hill at Pebble Beach and I believe this course to be better. The price was very fair for a well groomed course and awesome practice facilities. Dinner was the round was pricey but the meal was outstanding. Our group will definitely play here again. If you are in Northern Michigan, this is a must golf.

Course was in great shape and the greens were the perfect speed for an average golfer. My son and I played as a twosome with a mid morning tee time. We finished 18 holes in approximately 3.5 hours. We were able to play at our own pace. We even had time to look for a few errant shots. The staff was great. Only minor inconvenience was that we did not see the beverage cart until the 9th hole. However, there were plenty of water stations on the course.
We will definitely play this course on our next visit to the area.
