Talking Stick Golf Club - Piipaash Course
Played On 09/23/2022Very nice golf course
Convenient location from scottsdale. Greens were true and fairways were in great shape. Longish but not difficult
Braintree Municipal Golf Course
Played On 08/09/2019nice muni
very nice layout with great potential
very wet conditions and some wear on greens and fairways.
rangers are needed to improve pace of play (over 4.5 hours)
Raven Golf Club - Phoenix
Played On 02/17/2016Length creates the challenge
Course rating and slope were dead on. Played from the tips with very difficult 500 yard (against the wind) par 4 and two 590 yrd+ par fives. Greens were in perfect condition. Pace of play was reasonable with rangers keeping things moving pretty well.
Las Sendas Golf Club
Played On 12/17/2014One of my favorites in the Mesa area
It was cold but dry with the sun peeking out once in a while. The greens were in excellent shape and consistent in speed. (Secret -virtually all putts are straight putts on this course). The conditions otherwise were also very good. Nice layout and nice views. No quirky holes but a few blind greens. Best to play the course twice to determine best landing spots. Especially the wonderful 18th hole par 5 where my perfect placement left me 140 yards from the hole!
Pevely Farms Golf Club
Played On 10/16/2014Extremely good value and nice views
After three days of intermittent rain, the sun came out. Conditions were perfect at 65-75 degrees (morning until afternoon). The course however was extremely wet, probably due to very poor drainage (even wet on elevated slopes). Greens were fine and approximately 9-10 in speed. Pace was good until 15th hole where everything backed up. Very nice layout. Would definitely play again. Some tricky holes with hidden greens and short runways.
Wolf at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
Played On 10/11/2014Too many players
We played the front nine twice because the course was grossly overbooked and packed. The second front nine was played in under an hour (twosome). We would never have completed 18 holes had we played the full 18.
Our cart ran out of power on the 17th hole so we had to push it to some down hills to get back to clubhouse.
Rangers responded quickly to our complaint of slow play and drinkers leaving beer cans in front of us.
Very nice course though in good condition.
The Olympic at Gold Mountain Golf Course
Played On 10/05/2014Spectacular course
One of the nicest courses I have played despite the recently aerated greens (very sandy and bumpy). The layout and views are wonderful. A must play if in the Seattle area and one of the best values. We played the 36 hole special. Cascade was ok but Olympic is great.
The Currituck Club
Played On 06/07/2014The Currituck Club is very nice
The Currituck Club had just aerated its greens but was otherwise in very good shape. Every hole has an outlet on the tee shot. The course layout is very nice. Some holes challengingh. GPS is very accurate based on range finder comparison. Distance between holes requires cart. Great value at <$50. Good value at <$70. If greens recover well from aeration and reach 10-12 on Stimpmeter with no bumps, value of <$125 would seem appropriate. Pace on my day was great because 2 foursomes and a threesome let me pass them during the round.
Bahia Beach Resort & Golf Club
Played On 01/16/2014Very Nice Course
The course is very similar to what it was before Regis acquired. The greens were of good speed and condition except many ball marks and cleat marks around the holes. The course would be good value at $100 but not at $200+ or even the $152 that we played although Puerto Rico is becoming expensive location to play.
