ChampionsGate Golf Club - National
Played On 03/25/2015National - Sorry Greg, you should not be "proud" of this disjointed layout that is way overpriced
We played the National. This is an extremely disjointed and confusing layout. The first hole starts near the clubhouse, then you have to drive about a half mile to the other side of the road for the other 17 holes.
Apparently, they had just renumbered the holes recently, although the starter did not bring that up. As a result, the cart GPS was off and on the wrong hole at times - along with my own GPS. Thankfully our 4th player, a single, had played the course before. He saved us from going the wrong way numerous times, especially going from 3 green to figuring out where the 4th fairway was - it definitely was not obvious as to where to go.
The warm up and practice facilities are very nice, as is the clubhouse. The staff is very good. However the course conditions were just okay, the greens were average and the tee boxes and fairways average as well. We expected better for the money, and felt this was not a good value and we will not play here again.
Falcon's Fire Golf Club
Played On 03/24/2015Nice course, greens need work so a bit overpriced
First time playing Falcon's Fire and while it is a nice course and has very good service and practice facilities, we were disappointed with the course conditions, especially the greens. Given the amount of money they charge, we expected better.
That said, we had a good fast round of golf and enjoyed the layout. We would play there again, but probably will not return if the conditions do not improve.
International Golf Club - Oaks Course
Played On 07/31/2014A great afternoon at the International - Oaks Course
Just became aware thru GolfNow that this course (the Oaks) is open to the public. Usual price is $129 but got out for $80 - it is definitely worth $80. Our foursome played in the afternoon and there were very few groups out there - so the round was quick without any holdups or anyone to push you - and the conditions were excellent. The greens are well kept but tough to read - need to play it a few times to get them down. The issues with no carts on some fairways was really not that bad. Great snack bar out on the course and the beverage cart was available several times. We all played well and had a great afternoon - and will be back - at the lower price.
Shingle Creek Golf Club
Played On 03/04/2014Shingle Creek - worth the trip
Very nick track - challenging for my friend and I who shoot in the 90's, but if you pick the right tees, you will enjoy it. We were paired up with a single who played at a level we do and had a great time. No problems with pace of play. Conditions were a little spotty after the winter but not bad considering.
