Halifax Plantation
Played On 04/08/2024Great greens
The front line was in much better condition than the back nine In terms of fairways. The greens were impeccable throughout. The hot deal was around $59 which is a bit pricey, considering the backline condition. It could be the time of the year coming out of winter. I only play here when I’m I come down for March and April
Grandview Golf Club
Played On 09/17/2023One of the best upnorth values!
This course is a great deal and a blast to play
Interesting hole layouts, generous, fairways, and greens
The change in ownership has been very good for the course
I’m hoping they keep this affordable
They have been attempting to remodel the building but they have a ways to go
Grandview Golf Club
Played On 06/25/2023Great course for the money
I play Grandview frequently. New owners now - still working on correcting sprinkler controls which seem to have a mind of their own. Yesterday on the back nine I had to call the pro shop and report that the sprinklers on the approach to 10 were on. They were then on Hole 11 and 12. We worked around it but it took some timing to wait until the water was shooting away from where our balls were, hit the shot then putt out before running off the green.
It is a hidden gem having said all of that - try playing there = very peaceful and a great value.
The Summit at Shanty Creek
Played On 10/23/2022Great up north course
I am a season pass holder and have been for the past two years. Great layout, greens are in great shape. It gets treated poorly by people who compare it to the other courses that cost 2-4 times what Summit cost to play which is not fair - you get what you pay for.
The course is closed on Wed and Thur for maintenance, which is too bad because while I like the course, it is closed 28% of the week, which just doesn't work for me anymore. The groundskeeper had some pretty strange pin locations this Fall - hole 8 the pin was put on the top of a hill on the green (see pic). A few weeks ago the pin on 16 was put on the front of the green were even if you were below the hole, you could not stop the ball unless it went in the hole.
Having said that, it is a great course for the money if it fits your schedule.
The Summit at Shanty Creek
Played On 08/12/2022Great mature course in the Shanty Creek portfolio
Summit is a wonderful course and a great value for the money. I am a summer membership cardholder who lives here, so for $225 I can play as much as I want; cart fee is a bit pricey at $25 but I tend to walk as much as I can. I highly suggest you carry when you walk since it is quite hilly, especially on the back 9. A push cart is brutal going up and down the numerous hills. The greens are in great shape, some of the rough can get a little spotty in terms of turf but you'd have to get off-line quite a ways to find that. I hate that the course is closed on Wed and Thursday, and if that continues I will find another place to get a membership - I like to play 18 on the weekend and once in the middle of the week - the new closure days and not good for me.
Cypress Knoll Golf & Country Club
Played On 04/06/2022Bring some extra balls plenty of water
I like playing Cypress Knoll would be aware there’s a lot of water and places where your ball can roll off to that you will not be able to retrieve it
I’m not saying you can’t use your driver but be careful on the holes you do the core slopes to the left and right as many Florida courses do and you’ll feel at times that you got robbed of a good drive because the rolloff
It’s hard to fairly judge the quality of the course at this time of year because all Florida courses with the exception of the high-end ones look pretty rough this time of year in March and early April
Palm Harbor Golf Club
Played On 04/03/2022Nice course in Palm Coast
I discovered this gem in 2021 and I have played it a half dozen times in the past two years and found it to be a fun course with decent conditions
The greens are quite slow right now and they’ve been aerated and sanded so don’t expect a true roll when putting
It’s hard to judge a Florida course in March and early April I know that the growing season has not really kicked in yet so I would be hopeful that in the summer the chorus would fill out and have more grass on it
I recommend playing it if you can get a reservation since the St. John’s golf club is closed in 2022 for renovation this course is getting a lot more play as are others in the area and I actually had to call the course direct to get a time because GolfNow was tapped out
Cypress Knoll Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/25/2022challenging layout
i play this course a couple of times each spring break.
The price is right, just be prepared to lose quite a few balls since there is a lot of water and woods where you ball will go to die.
the course is difficult; tight holes with unforgiving water and jungle
good for iron practice
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Cypress Knoll Golf & Country Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
Baytree National Golf Links
Played On 11/09/2021Best course played so far
Nice course - fairways well kept - greens rolled true and fast - pin position on hole 1 was at the back of the green on a fairly steep incline - whomever cut the hole there needs some guidance on where you cat put a pin
Will definitely play again
Indian River Preserve Golf Club
Played On 11/07/2021Fun course - cool and windy round
$36 GolfNow reservation - good value course
Interesting track - tee boxes pretty chewed up in spots - greens challenging - left many approach shots above the hole since it was the first time I played it
Take extra balls- if it goes into the woods it’s gone
Easy to get lost - signage on the last turn could be better - the course is way back in the sub
I’d play it again
Royal St. Augustine Golf and Country Club
Played On 04/07/2021Royal St Augustine still needs work - good for iron practice
Not much has changed
Crowned fairways
Clearly not watering enough
Chewed up tee boxes
Fairways are bare in spots and weeds have grown
Hard fairways and greens
Some greens are pretty bumpy
Balls will run off into water or woods
You will lose at least a dozen balls
Leave your driver in the bag
Good practice for irons
Omni Amelia Island Resort - Oak Marsh
Played On 04/05/2021Beautiful Course
This course is indeed a treasure
Ancient live oaks line all of the holes
It is a challenging course and the greens are fast and undulating
Some of the pin placements were very difficult
If you go bring your own snacks because the only way you’re going to eat at the turn is order something from the restaurant
I am at Charlie at the bag drop off and he was very nice as was the people at the front counter and the starter Ron was great
If you get a chance to play this course take it you won’t regret it I highly recommend it
Thank you for your kind words! We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another 5-star experience. Thanks for choosing Omni Amelia Island Resort - Oak Marsh.
Magnolia Point Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/30/2021Country Club course in Northern Florida
Nice course layout - winds it’s way through a lovely community- most homes aren’t too close to the holes
Fairways and greens in great shape - the rough has quite a bit of weed growth
Fairly new carts
Pro shop looked meager
Staff pleasant and welcoming- remembered my name
I’ll be back to play again
Palatka Golf Club
Played On 03/29/2021Old Florida course
This Donald Ross course has small greens with quite a few that are crowned so accuracy with your irons is really important
Need to know how to bump and run to stop your ball on the green
The fairways are in good shape; rough is quite weedy and needs a lot of work
Greens were sanded recently and slow
Based on the license plates I’d say this course is mostly played by locals
St. Johns Golf Club
Played On 03/27/2021Typical public course
Always enjoyed playing here while on Spring Break
The greens were mostly bumpy and needed cutting and rolling
Bunkers could use an upgrade of real bunker sand
Tee boxes on range were mostly dirt and needed moving to where there is grass to hit from
Carts were in good shape
We had fun
Will be back
Twin Birch Golf Club
Played On 06/19/2018Up North golfing - great value
This course is great value for the money . Book it on GolfNow what for hot deals I’ve been on there for as little as $13-$14 for 18 with the cart . It has the feel of an up north course cut through the woods very peaceful. It appears they recently got new golf carts which are electric. There are quite a few dogleg holes so be prepared - this is not a course to simply pull out the driver on every hole - it forces you to think about yardages and placement. I recommend you give the course a try I think you will come back.
Golf Club At South Hampton
Played On 04/03/2018My favorite course when staying in St Aug Beach
Fairways and greens were in great shape considering it was April
Wide forgiving fairways and fairly fast greens are. Nice to play on
As a single golfer I have found my tee time is no gairantee I am golfing at my tee time and generally have to be worked in. Other than that I absolutely love playing there.
Golf Club At South Hampton
Played On 04/02/2018My favorite course
The fairways are generous. The greens are in great shape - fast and true - especially when compared to other courses in the area this time of year. The person who checked us in the pro shop seemingly indifferent that we were there. Had some pre-made sandwiches from the bar which were very good. All in all we had a great time!
Palatka Golf Club
Played On 03/30/2018Great value- old style course
The greens were in great shape especially given the time of year The greens have a lot of false fronts so you might want to take an extra club for your approach shots it appears they have put their money into maintaining the fairways and the greens rest of the course needs some work
Nice track - much more open than most Florida courses
It was worth the 40 minute drive from Crescent Beach and I’d play it again
Cypress Knoll Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/25/2017Bring extra balls
Lots of water so load up on balls
I played after winter so the grass wasn't growing much
Some greens are in rough shape
I like playing there - course is challenging but fun
