You Can Tell Jack Designed It

This was our 2nd time playing No. 9 and we loved it just as much as the 1st time. The course is in fantastic shape. We were a twosome playing behind a foursome and still finished in under 4 hours. We didn't push the group in front of us and never got pushed from behind. There are lot of dogleg rights, as you would imagine considering Jack designed it. There are quite a few natural areas and just the right amount of water. We paid a member/guest rate, assuming the walk-on rate is much higher. We played No. 5 in the afternoon and wish we would've played No. 9 twice, that's how much we loved it.

Not What I Expected from Pinehurst

We played No. 9 in the morning and loved it. We played No. 5 in the afternoon and were disappointed. The course was in fair to poor condition and the pace of play was poor. There were 2 groups on the tee at each hole and we waited on every shot from the tee and fairway. The amenities at Pinehurst are 2nd to none though. We played the 18 hole putting course that was a blast and we wish we would've played The Cradle instead of No. 5 now. The Cradle looks like a blast and they had music playing all afternoon. We ate lunch at The Deuce. Sit at the right-side of the bar and you'll have a perfect view of the 18 Green for No. 2.

Worth Walking, not Riding

We had the 1st tee time on a Friday morning and had the course to ourselves. The greens were in fantastic shape and the course was in good shape for being mid-April. $30 per-person for a cart is expensive ($60 total for myself and a friend). I would play again, but only if I could walk the course.

Like the Natural Areas

This was my 1st time playing Lonnie Pool. I like the natural areas and the extreme slopes that you can use to make shots. The course was in average condition, which isn't unexpected for early April. The greens were in good shape and rolling fast.
