Enjoyable round

My wife and I played Bonita National for the first time this week. We had a good time playing for a number of reasons. The pace of play was great because we had no one in front of or behind us. We played at our own pace, which was fairly quick. The course was in good shape from tee to green. The fairways were generous and there was no running into water because of slopes towards the hazards. the staff was friendly and it was an all-around good experience. We will be back again.

Fun course in good condition

My wife and I played on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The only problem was that it was quite windy, but of course there isn't anything anyone can do about that. We were paired with two gentlemen who played about the same level as me, and that helped make it a fun day. The course was in good condition and very fair. The main problem I had was with the elevation of the greens. They are not severely elevated, but just enough that I left a lot of shots short, particularly when the pins were in front.

Short course, but nice round

This is a private course in season, but open to the public in the late spring and summer. It is short (max 5518 yds) but somewhat challenging for the length. A good course for ladies or seniors who no longer hit the ball much over 200.

The pace was great except for 2 holes when we caught up to some novices who were quite slow, but we played through and then it was smooth sailing thru 18. The condition of the course was pretty good and the staff was very friendly.

Challenging but fair

I thought this course would be more difficult than it was. I did not score well, but it was more because I wasn't playing well than because the course was so hard. We played the white tees, which was appropriate for my handicap, and I had two penalties of the tee, both because of poor shots. We enjoyed our day, and because of the Golf Now hot deal, it was a real bargain.

Too narrow for me

We played the East / North combination. The North was okay, but the East has narrow fairways with water on both sides in some cases. I know Florida courses generally have more water in play than most Midwest courses but I didn't like this course.

Beautiful surroundings but unfair greens.

The greens were too fast for the contours, at least for someone playing them for the first time, or who doesn't play them regularly. I'm not the greatest putter, but I took 45 and my playing partner, who is a pretty good putter took 41.

However, the overall condition of the course was pretty good, the scenery is spectacular and the weather was nice so it was an enjoyable day.
