Lake Tansi Resort
Played On 05/26/2016Wonderful time / great experience
Driving range and putting areas are excellent. Fairways and tee boxes are immaculate. The greens are superb. There was a course book in the cart with distances but the two I played with knew the course and told me the best angles and distances to shoot for. This is a great golf course and I look forward to playing there again.
Avalon Country Club
Played On 12/22/2015Slippery when wet
The golf course was excellent though hilly. Beautiful fairways and immaculate greens. A few of the holes required accurate approaches but I found that I was not the only one that landed in the woods. A couple tee boxes were being reseeded but the alternates were every bit as good. Be careful when driving the carts though as they are electric and the brakes engage if you let off the accelerator. The day I played was after a heavy rainstorm. Wet pavement and instant braking make for a disquieting slide down a steep cart path. Lesson learned, do not let off the accelerator while going downhill. Yes, I would love to play the course again. However, I will probably wait for a drier day.
Cherokee Golf Course
Played On 07/25/2015Great value
Fairways were excellent. Greens had a lot of divot marks where previous golfers didn't repair them. Everyone one the course was very friendly. If you're new to the course or a high handicap play the Orange/red tee on 7. It will allow you to see your ball land.
Emory Golf & Country Club
Played On 07/04/2015Good course for beginners
Usually play this course once a week.
It's a bit hilly but the fairways are wide the greens are mostly level. It's a bit Haley so walking will tire you out. Cost is low so there's usually several people playing. Mid day is a better time than morning or evening if you want to take your time.
Royal Oaks Golf Course & Event Center
Played On 7/16/2013Beautiful setting
This course plays around/across water and through a beautiful golf community. The directions between holes needs better upkeep but the fairways are incredible. The greens are very nice and not hard to read. The water location in front of the green on 13 gives everyone a chance for their own tin cup moment. I chose to lose only one ball falling two feet short of the bank before taking the drop.
River Oaks Golf Club
Played On 5/6/2013Nice course...
We played on Otter and Fox. The electric carts are very nice, not noisy like the gas ones on other courses. Some of the greens were in need of tending - brown areas, and my ball found the pond in the middle of a greenside bunker once. Overall though it was very pleasant to play. The edges of the water hazards were well-marked and distances to the green were easy to ascertain. It would have taken us less than 3-1/2 hours but we got behind a foursome of seniors on the back nine.
