Ocean County Golf Course at Atlantis
Played On 03/30/2024Cream Ridge Golf Club
Played On 11/07/2023Poor conditions
Booked on golf now. The course had no information I was coming, had to show them my confirmation on my phone. To many temporary tee boxes. No ranger, single and double golfers where jumping all over the course. It's a shame because this is a nice course. Will play again but only once or twice a year.

Played On 09/21/2023Best conditions ever
I've been playing this course since 2003 and this is the best conditions this course has ever been in. Every bit of this course was perfect. The rough here is usually very high and hard to get out of but, this time the rough was at a normal length for rough. I don't play this course alot but, I was very pleased with this new look. I was told that a new management company was doing the maintenance now. I don't know if that is true or not but, the course is in the best shape I ever played it.

This is a great course. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they were working on the 17th green and we had to use a temporary green set up in the fairway. That plus no cart person and they don't take cash anywhere. Not in the clubhouse, the check in or the halfway house at the 10th tee box. That said the tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens where in great shape. They are working like crazy on this course. The course is tight, very little rough between fairways and woods, so straight shooting is a must. Will add this course to my schedule.. Hidden gem.

Played On 07/30/2023Not worth the money
It's an executive course most of the holes are par 3s. The one long par 4 they changed to a short par 3. Tee boxes are mud. Slow play plus people hitting 2 tee balls. The fairways are so tight it is common practice to play ball from the other holes fairways. Not worth going unless your a beginner or someone that has time to waist.

The course was in great condition. Best I've seen in years. There is no 19th hole, so don't look for one. Most of the people that play this course are local and leave right after their round. One plus is their driving range is natural turf not seen at many courses in this price range. Overall it is a good course.

I didn't know it when I booked my tee time at 1PM that there was a morning outing. My tee time was the first of the day. There was no one in front of our group. We played a fast 4 hour round. I play this course regularly and 4 1/2 to 5 hour rounds are usually the norm. But I like playing this course. The course is fun to play and the 19 hour is great. It's so good the locals swing by and use it as their favorite watering hole.

Played On 09/01/2023Rude ranger
The course itself was in very good condition. The pro shop man and the starter were very friendly. That said the ranger was not friendly and very rude. Our tee time was 11:54 AM. There was nobody in front of us when we teed off. The ranger started following us after the second hole. We finished the 5th hole around 1:00PM. At that time the ranger told us we had to pick up the pace. We asked if we were behind and he told us yes. We asked him how we could be behind when there was nobody in front of us. He said we needed to pick up the pace. We all looked at each other and shrugged our shoulders. We finished the front 9 in under 2 hours and completed 18 6 minutes under 4 hours. I don't know how fast they want you to play, but I don't think we did to bad. That venting aside the course was very nice and I would play it again but, I really don't want to see that ranger again.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize for any negative experience you had with the ranger and we appreciate your feedback. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the course and found our staff in the pro shop and starter to be friendly.

Nice and challenging course. All of the greens slope forward, so stay below the hole. The ruff will eat you alive, stay out of it. I lost 2 balls and I saw where they handed.

Played On 10/22/2022Nice course
Course was in great shape. Very nice layout. Saturday and no cart girl on course. They advertised no water on course bring your own drinks. No 19th hole. Play golf and leave. If you just want to play golf on a interesting course and go home this is a nice course.

Played On 09/26/2022Good course
The course is very challenging, it's very links like with many moguls and fairway bunkers. The Greens and tee boxes were in great shape. The staff are pleasant enough. The problems are the ball machine was broken so you have to scoop your own bucket of balls for the range. Also, there is no food on the course. There's no restaurant on site or bar. We found a club on the course so I called the club house and the call went to voice mail. The course is very good but, the rest is nothing to speak of. I know they were purchased out of bankruptcy by Vineyard National last year so I hope improvements are coming. Will play again because the course is that good.
Cedar Creek Golf Course
Played On 09/10/2022Getting beter
This course is getting beter. Two years ago it was a dump New management group took over for the township that finally figured out they can't run a golf course. New bunkers, fairways with grass not crabgrass the greens are in great shape except for the 3rd green for some reason grass doesn't last on that green. New drainage on the back 9, used to be swampy on the back, not anymore. Tee boxes are still an issue, they're in terrible shape. It is an improved course. If you never played it and want to try something new it would be worth it. 19th hole is nice, good finger food. I wouldn't pay over $45 to play it

Played On 08/21/2022Great as usual.
Course was in great condition. Tee boxes are starting to get chewed up a little, but not bad. My only suggestion is in front of the 18th green needs some work. That area always seems to be chewed up and wet. It's hard to play from that area. That's my only complaint. And remember to have some granola for the 15th tee box.

Cedar Creek Golf Course
Played On 06/20/2022New course
The new management group that is now running Cedar Creek is doing a great job. It's taken them a couple of years to fix all the problems on this course. Every aspect of the course needed repairs. The fairways, greens and bunkers are in great condition. The tee boxes are a work in progress but they are almost completed. A few of the holes had drainage problems, they also have been addressed and now you can take your cart on all of the back nine holes. The 19th hole is great also. They have really good food at this restaurant. The restaurant is a little small but that's not their fault it's all they have to work with. Staff are friendly. I live near this course and for years avoided it like the plague, not anymore. I will be playing this course alot more now. The course itself is tight tree lined but is a good test of golf. The only suggestion I would make is they could have more rangers patrolling the course. There are still some knuckleheads out there doing their own thing.

Ocean County Golf Course at Atlantis
Played On 04/22/2022Difficult but fair course.
This is a George Fazio course built in the early 1960's. Very challenging but not torturous. Fairways, greens bunkers and tee boxes all were in great shape. The one draw back to this course that in the summer the green head flies and the other insects will eat you alive. They spray almost everyday to keep the bugs away. If you go in the summer take plenty of bug spray and consider wearing long sleeve shirt and long pants no matter what the temperature is. This is a shame because the course is a beautiful course and fun to play. Also because this is a county course the restaurant is staffed by the vo-tech students and they do a great job. If you never played this course it is well worth a visit.
Cedar Creek Golf Course
Played On 04/13/2022Still needs work
The only reason I play this course is because it's near my house. It's way to expensive for this course. I like to go play new courses but, I would advise anyone wanting to try this course for the first time to avoid it unless you get a good deal on golf now. Good points about the course. One all the bunkers were rebuilt and are in great condition. Two the greens were in good to almost excellent condition. Thats it. The tees boxes have NO grass on them, your teeing off of mud or sand. The fairways are terrible. I don't know what they consider grass but I sure don't recognize it. It's some sort of moss with alot of dirt patches and this is April I would hate to see this in August when it's hot. I saw the cart girl at the starters booth and got a beer from her. She said she would be on the course all day, I never saw her again. The restaurant at the course is good. The have good food and carry all the usual beer. It's a little small but, that's all the room they have. It's a good place to get something to eat or drink. I would recommend them.
Vineyard National Golf Course
Played On 04/12/2022Pleasantly surprised
I like this course, it has a challenging layout. It used to be a $35 to $45 course. Now their prices went way up. I don't play it during peek season. They did alot of work on the course removing trees and cutting down the tall grass on the rough. It is worth the money their asking but I'm on a fixed income and can't pay the price. If I could I would play it more. There are a few draw backs. One is no locker room to change clothes and the other is no food to purchase while on the course. I don't understand either of these. Other than that It's a good course. Also, I was told by an employee that they just bought the closed Sea Oaks golf course in Little Egg Harbor and plan on opening it June 1st of this year to be called LBI National. I hope they have good luck with that. The people that live in that community were left hanging when Sea Oaks closed.
Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Gambler Ridge Golf Club.
