An Executive Course With A Friendly Staff

The conditions were below average on this course, however this is what we expected for the price. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and seemed to really care that we had a good time.

Course consists of a lot of par 3 holes with apartment building (low rises) usually on one side of you throughout. There are a couple of holes that cross so watch out for bad tee shots.

Greens need a lot of work to remove the bumps and to create a more consistent speed. Overall if you are looking for a relaxed short course with a few challenging shots this would be a good choice. I would take beginner golfers here to relax and have fun.

Challenging Course With Super Friendly Staff

We have played this course a couple of times in the past two months. The course is a challenging layout with longer holes, tight fairways, and medium to fast greens.

Although this is an average course in terms of conditions, the greens rolled true during both visits. The course is not located in the best area, and we did see people crossing fairways on two holes from the nearby apartments.

What made our visits great were the staff - From the starter to the staff in the clubhouse they went the extra mile. The starter even hopped in a cart at the turn and asked the slower group ahead of us to let us pass. Both starters we dealt with showed that they cared about us having a good time and returning. They showed pride in the course and we will be back for this reason.

Great Layout If You Hit It Straight

This is a shorter course that is unique for South Florida. They holes have elevation changes and rolling fairways. This course is kept in great shape, although we have noticed that it does not drain very well and the fairways are often slightly wet.

We have had mixed experiences with the staff here and often find them a bit dismissive. Sometimes they seem annoyed that we booked through GolfNow.

The course is quite challenging with medium to tight fairways. If you miss the fairways however your ball is often not recoverable, so bring lots of extras. There are a few holes that are quite close together, and they have done this to fit all 27 holes into a smaller area. We did see two alligators along one of the holes.

I would recommend playing this course at least once to experience a different layout. Their practice area is amazing with a great driving range.

Nice course that needs a little more TLC

The greens at this course were in great shape when we played. The fairways were quite dry and a little chopped up. Overall good conditions with a lot of raised greens.

The staff was extremely friendly during our visit and we quite enjoyed playing this course. Overall I would recommend it due to its friendly staff, interesting layout, and green conditions.

This course has the potential to be one of the top ones in Miami if they added a little more TLC to the fairways and areas around the tee boxes.

Good course with a bad starter

This course recently had its greens redone. They are in great condition, although they are quite firm leading to a lot of balls at the back of the green.

We have been to all of the Palm Aire courses multiple times. The Cypress and the Oaks use the same clubhouse, and the starter her is not only unfriendly, he acts like he is doing you a favor by letting you play his course.

We had an early morning twosome tee time, and there was only one group ahead of us (a foursome). We were there early, and there was nobody on the tee. Instead of letting us go ahead, the starter insisted we wait 20 minutes (10 past our tee time) and put us behind the foursome. I still can't figure out why he would do this... He did try and put us on the Oaks right away, but we wanted to play the new greens on the Cypress. I think this annoyed him so this was his way of getting us back.

Of course, the foursome nicely let us past on the second hole. Just an inconvenience for both groups due to a starter with a chip on his shoulder.

Amazing Course With Great Service

Both the east and west courses are in amazing condition. Greens are fast, but hold balls with spin. The staff here goes the extra mile to ensure you are having a nice visit. The marshal even gave us a layout book on one of the hole while we were waiting.

East course is much longer than the west. I definitely like the west better due to it having more interesting holes. Overall a great club worth visiting.

Renovations Have Greatly Improved Course

We have played quite a few rounds at this course over the past year. It recently had some major renovations completed including new greens on all 18 holes, better sand added (the fluffy stuff), and other improvements to tee boxes and fairways.

The staff did an excellent job of bring this course back to a higher standard. They are always friendly, and it does have a membership feel.

The new greens are firm because they are new, and the course has a lot of open fairways and is good for all levels of golfers. We always enjoy going to this course.

Mixed feelings about the course

We have played both the East and West courses a few times this year. We always have mixed feelings after we leave.

Staff is sometimes really friendly and other times a bit dismissive. This course is owned by Clublink which is a Canadian company that owns multiple golf courses in Canada and the USA. They recently purchased Palm Aire and also own Heron Bay. Their members can play any of the courses within their membership (depending on member level). Sometimes the staff does not care about the day to day visitors due to this membership program.

Course is in average condition with some interesting holes. We don't usually see a marshal out on the course during our visits. Typically the course is quiet unless they are hosting an event (which does seem to happen often).

The bag drop system needs to be improved - They want you to valet every time, and often the bags are not brought down right away resulting in you waiting for a cart and your clubs.

Overall a decent mid level course with a nice layout.

Inexpensive Executive Course

If we are looking to book a quick round at an executive 18 hole course, we often choose Hillsboro due to its low price and decent layout.

The course is a great value and is what you would expect for an inexpensive round. Greens are on the slow side. Conditions could be improved and the course is often quite dry.

Basically a decent course to play if you get it at the right price.

Long and Challenging Course

We have played this course a few times over the past 6 months. The staff is usually friendly both in and out of the clubhouse. They need to add a marshal to help with slow play, and to stop people from walking across the fairways!

There are a couple of joggers who use holes 5, 6, and 13 and have no regard for people playing the course. We have waited up to 10 minutes multiple times waiting for them to get out of the way.

This course used to be a lot better but appears to have aged considerably over the years. The owners may be looking to sell. They have recently redone the greens on the Glades (executive) course which is perfect for beginners who are not too worried about etiquette and just want to go out to learn the game.

Good For The Price

A good executive course that is usually in great shape. Fairways can be narrow on certain holes. Pace of play can be an issue with a lot of beginners playing this course.
