Rolling Hills Golf Club - Challenge
Played On 06/27/2017Course Should Not Have Been Opened
It's been raining like crazy lately - and rained a few hours before tee-off, but there is no excuse for taking people's money (even when it's a great GolfNow deal!) when there are huge puddles on nearly every fairway, when a couple of greens are water-logged, when each and every bunker is filled with water. And I mean filled - a ball landing in one of them was impossible to see in the foot deep water.
And the fairways were so soaked that in many, many places it was a struggle to push a cart through them.
A deal is a deal, but I bailed after 13 holes. It was that unpleasant an experience.
(And fyi - there's not a single hill on the course)
On a clear day, this would be a decent beginner's track, but really, there is no excuse for taking people's money when the course is in such pathetic shape.
Richmond Hill Golf Club
Played On 11/17/2016Nice round, good course.
Without the deals from Golf Now, Richmond Hill seems a bit overpriced. But no big deal, the course is always in great shape - even in November. Only complaint was that while waiting out a frost delay, I learned that our twosome was the second group of the day - behind a foursome that included a couple of novices. No Marshall on the course, and the group had no intention of waving us through. So we skipped a hole and golfed on. We were probably at home by the time the plodders finished 18.
But still - I heartily recommend this course. A challenge, but not too challenging.
