Willbrook Plantation Golf Club
Played On 02/20/2018Myrtle Beach / Pawley's Gem - Must play
Great course. Not only was the staff great, but they got us on tee at our time exactly and had the groups moving along at a good pace.
The course design is interesting, with a lot of risk/reward holes and accuracy over distance being rewarded. Conditions were AMAZING considering it was February - especially considering other "premium" courses in the area were in such bad condition. These greens rolled true, and were healthy as late spring / early summer.
Certainly would recommend to golfers of all skill levels - this course is great.

Not much needs to be said, but this is a must play if staying in the area. The course is incredibly challenging but not overly punishing. Conditions for this time of year were good, not outstanding, but very good.
Highly recommend. Every par 3 was sceninc and challenging - and most par 5s were incredibly long but again, very rewarding. Excellent design.
Tiger's Eye Golf Links at Ocean Ridge Plantation

I went with a buddy in late February. Weather was about 60 degrees, which was fair for the day, with limited wind. The course probably is worth playing when they get the conditions right, but the fairways were bumpy and burnt at times, and the greens were unplayable. The greens were obviously either burnt through or had not been watered in some time, and were painted with that blue-green turf paint to make it look like they were in reasonable conditions. I would not recommend this course to anyone during this time of the year - there are other courses that are in far better condition that are worth playing. The rack rate being charged here seems unreasonable considering the greens were so hard that not a pitchmark could be found.
Oak Creek Golf Club
Played On 03/25/2017Great Course. Plays Long.
This has become my favorite public course in the DMV area. It can be long - 7100 from the tips - but it even playing from one of the shorter teeboxes the variation in the holes (length of 3s, double doglegs 5s, strategic holes on the 4s) makes it really fun. Never broken 90 on the course (16 hcp) but it is always in great condition.
