Wigwam Resort - Gold Course
Played On 09/14/2018Great golf experience...
Wigwam is obviously one of the better golf destinations in the West Valley. Only disappointment with my round is that I was playing (as a single) behind a young couple and they did not let me play through. Unfortunately I had to wait to hit at least one shot on every hole.
Westbrook Village Golf Club - Lakes Course
Played On 08/16/2016Love this course
Love the layout; never waited on a a shot; course conditions were excellent.
Mesa Del Sol Golf Course
Played On 08/05/2016Even at $10 not really a great deal.
Pleasantly surprised by the amount of water we encountered on a desert course. Still, this course is really scruffy! There are not a lot of options around Yuma, and for $10 we thought it was worth a try. Looks like the course needs a financial investor to make some improvements. If you are selective in your courses, and would prefer not to play to a below average course, then stay away from Mesa Del Sol
Coyote Lakes Golf Club
Played On 03/04/2016Pretty nice course for what used to be a gravel pit
Narrow back nine, which I did not enjoy nearly as much as the front side. Our foursome moved right along relatively speaking, for an early March tee time at 15.00. This allowed us to get 15 holes in before dark. Greens were really good shape. I usually do not lose any balls, but left 3-4 out on the course at Coyote Lakes, which says something about the layout here.
Pebblebrook Golf Course
Played On 02/22/2016A windy day at PB
Greens were in great shape and very fair.
The rough was very sketchy... thin grass.
North Golf Course at Sun City
Played On 12/14/2015The course was deserted on this cool, windy day.
Nothing unusual about this Sun City course, perhaps a little longer than most. Very fair all the way around.
Riverview Golf Course
Played On 12/10/2015Revamped and re-amped
Riverview lie dormant for a year and I was surprised at all the changes during the makeover. Wow, those greens are PGA Tour tough.
Still, enjoyed the round and the challenge.
Course is not long; played with my 88 year-old father, who hit from the gold tees, which he very much appreciated.
Huge bunkers with very fine sand, and lots of them surrounding the greens. Greens did not hold our approach shots very well, so we resorted to the "bump and run game" to avoid the traps, as the pin was usually in tight behind a bunker.
Golf carts appeared new... that was a pleasant surprise.
Never had to wait on a single shot, also a big plus.
Cimarron Golf Club
Played On 10/12/2015Just Grand
Don't play the Sun City Grand courses very often. Great round. Fairways wide open, rough was short, enormous bunkers, greens were fast. Liked everything about it. Very fair, although probably too short for the long hitters, and too easy for the advanced level player.
The Legacy Golf Club
Played On 07/27/2015a championship course...one of the select courses in phoenix
If you like it long, then this course certainly offers that option, including a 580 yard par 5 from the blacks. Getting off the tee in good shape is critical for this course. Fairways were open/wide, which helps.
Greens were nice, somewhat fast, very fair. Not as much break as I anticipated.
Was hoping to get around faster, but I arrived on a day scheduled for league play. Worked out alright, as I went off the backside and was allowed to play through several 3- and 4-somes.
Enormous bunkers are a landmark on this course.
Union Hills Golf & Country Club
Played On 07/24/2015A relaxed, comfortable round
Course keeps improving... nice to see all the investments in the Union Hills CC under new ownership over the past several years. Very nice clubhouse, driving range, etc.
We got around in a little over 3 hours as a twosome.
I like everything about this course.
Arizona Traditions Golf Club
Played On 06/12/201518 holes in under three hours
Not a course for long hitters, great for seniors. Greens were very slow.
Cimarron Golf Club - Boulder Course
Played On 09/04/2014outstanding value
Course was empty - only saw two other golfers during our afternoon round. Very pleasurable experience, with new sand in the impressive and abundant sand traps. Great deal when you can walk on for $20. Picturesque setting without paying Palm Springs resort prices.
Palmbrook Golf Club
Played On 08/20/2014a relaxing day on an established course
Very typical Sun City course, although the greens are a cut above. Enjoyed the round quite a bit, especially after the twosome ahead of us let us pass them by at the turn.
Most of the danger off the tee is on the right on this course, so players who hit right will find the course a little more challenging.
Majestic Oaks Golf Club - Crossroads Golf Course
Played On 07/31/2014Majestic Oaks lives up to its name
We played the Crossroads Course, which is one of three 18-hole courses to chose from. Lots of trees, but a very fair layout. Only criticism was the par 5 on the back nine (#14?) that zig-zags to the green, which means you hit two 8-irons as approach shots coming into the green. Rather strange.
Greens were fair, somewhat slower than I expected.
I would go back, no queston, to see if I could improve my score the second time around.
Legend at Arrowhead, The
Played On 07/14/2014A tough round
I am used to flying around 18 holes here in Phoenix at this time of the year. This round was different. This course is more popular than most, for whatever reason. We teed off at 6.08 at a comfortable 86°. It went downhill from there.
Our twosome was paired with a couple of less experienced golfers, and it was obvious that we were in for a six-hour round, if we did not do something. We excused ourselves from this twosome and played on by ourselves. (I hope they have finished by now,)
As far as the course, there is a lot of sand and water, so it is not a course for beginners. The distances from green to tee are perhaps unparalleled on several holes. And, if you spray the ball, this is not the course for you because there are houses lining both sides of the rough throughout.
The saving grace is that we booked for $10/person ... a really good deal.
Westbrook Village Golf Club - Vistas Course
Played On 07/09/2014booked at noon, teed off at 4, back to the clubhouse at 7
Very enjoyable round.
Only saw three others on the entire course over 18 holes.
Course is very fair, greens are in good shape.
If I could always get around in 3 hours, I would play more.
Thank you so much for coming out to play and providing your feedback! We hope to see you back again soon!
