A Bending Review!

My cousin is a member at Horseshoe Bend so when I visit Roswell, GA my clubs are always with me! I’ve played this course a dozen or so times and in all different climates. Chilli February, winding rainy April, Steamy hot August and every thing in between. The course has it’s challenging holes, some shots that dare you to “just go for it” like the 5th hole. A short par 4, about 285 (from blue tee) but all over water. A skinny fairway for the not so daring but miss too far right and the lake will eat you up. Pass that test and make your way through to the 9th tee. There you’ll sit high about the landing area 100+ feet down hill. If you hit it just right this short par 5 will allow you to get home in two. But if you don’t get to the bottom of the hill do not try and make that 250 yard approach over the pond! You won’t make it and it will just wreck for your front nine! Grab a beer and a dog and take a nice 4 iron off the 10th tee. This is another on of those enticing shots that make you want to “go for. It”! Put that driver down and take a deep breath. A nice 200+ yard drive leaves you a short iron in to a very long green. Oh the Greens! Like putting on Glass’ totally not fair but I’m getting used to it. The 15th, 16th and 17th are all good scoring holes but it’s setting you up for that long Par 5 18th. Sitting again high above the landing area by a good 100’ but stay right, the left is all woods and at the bottom and a mud, muck, marshy danger! If you can get down to the middle right you have about a 240yrd shot over the creek and up to a slick green surrounded by DEEP bunkers. All in all a real nice course for all handi caps. I’ll be back. I need to break 80!
