Raven Golf Club - Phoenix
Played On 4/11/2013Not as good as I had heard
The course was fun to play but a bit disappointed in the greens--lots of brown spots on most greens--were told it was new summer grass coming in--huh? Couldn't believe that at a high end course which they believe they are that you have to pay for warm-up balls. We played this course on our first day in Phoenix as it was close to the airport and we made it from the airport just in time to hit a few practice balls and tee off. The course design was ok nothing to exciting but very playable for a high handicapper (15). Not bad for $99 but we played the Legacy course next door for $79 and it was in much better condition and was a far better layout and practice balls were included. Probably wouldn't play this course again if i returned to Phoenix. Have played the Raven at Verrado which I thought was a much better course.
