A good course could be better. The front 9 (which used to be the back 9) is tough on the eyes. Less player friendly because of the hard pan areas which seem to take up 30-40% of each hole. Some loving care to build the front 9 to resemble the back 9 would go a long way to move from a locals only course to a top tier must play course. Green speeds; challenging! Back 9 fairways; lush! Bunkering throughout; impressive & challenging! Water features; wide & deep! Customer service in all areas of operation; outstanding!

Pleasantly surprised!! One of my golf buddies said stay away”. “Lousy layout”. HE LIED!!! He musta played lousy & blamed everyone & everything else! Conditions were exceptional! Definitely on my replay list!

Pros: The course was in as good a shape as I’ve seen it. The greens were rolling fair (7-8 stimp?). Beverage cart hostess & the marshals were friendly and engaging. One even asked about my irons.
Cons: Now I can’t say for certain, but I swear that when I booked the tee time a week or so prior to my play date, there was no “Alert” that the only 2 courses open for play were the King back 9 & the Mulligan 9. And range balls were not included. Not for $85.00. Maybe $65.00 all-in. I’m getting a new eye glasses prescription.

Haven’t played DR in over 8 years. Lot’s o’ trees missing! Results of 8 years of monsoons for sure! Hence, a lot more open “windows “ to cut corners or sneak out of the tree line! Tee boxes, fairways and green approaches all very well maintained! Greens were running a respectable 8 to 9 stimp!
Overall, the playing areas were well groomed!

I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to music playing in the background off the 1st and 10th tees but I get it’s appealing to bring new players to the game. So I move on.

Nice course, nice day and good playing partners made for a good day.

Greens unpredictable. Many, if not all of the cups have overgrowth around the cup! Maybe the cup locations haven't been changed in a few days? Fairways are in good shape. Staff very friendly. Too bad the bar or satellite wagering isn't open. If you just want to get out and get a round in, then Union Hills is your huckleberry. If you want to get a round in to work on approaches and/or putting, look elsewhere. But when Union Hills is taken care of; she's a beauty!

Course is in the best shape for this time of year! (late July/early August). The course is only going to get better! OH WAIT!; the course is in the crappiest condition that I have ever seen! Stay away!

Not really. The last sentence was to keep everyone away so that us locals could enjoy the course!

The wait and the clubhouse staff are truly the best! Kelcie is by far one of the best bar tendresses around! Very personable!

The course is by far playing waaaay better then their competition across the street.

The staff is great! Outwardly friendly and engaging! They are there to make your day memorable!

Which is a good thing because the course could use some TLC! Greens were crunchy and looked like they were infected with spurge. 60% of the practice putting green was decent. No problemo's on the fairways! Closer in though, VERY tight thin lies! Bordering on chipping off wet dirt roads.

Course is probably better early in the year; but 63.00 is a fair price any time of the year.

Be back? Probably; the clubhouse is nice!

"Somewhat challenging" hardly describes the courses played 07/03! Due to normal course maintenance scheduling, we played Back 9 North/Front 9 South, blue/white tee combo. My first time on the South. I can hardly wait to play the South 1-18 in August! D*** that South front 9 was difficult! Some blind tee shots; blind 2nd's; quick greens (9-10 stemp); LONG 3-par holes; holy smokes! The North is always fun to play, but that South! Yup! I'll be back!! I'll bring my brother to punish him! And next time, I'm playing the WHITE tees on the South!

It's been awhile since I last played Ocotillo. Gold/Blue courses today. White course my fav. Greens a lot slower than I remember. Likely due to letting the Bermuda take hold. Fairways & rough areas in great shape! The course is still fun to play!

Nice now that the snowbirds have left and greenies are down to where they should be YEAR ROUND! I get that we have brutal summers which reduce the number of rounds played, but jeez. Nice little perk for multi play rounds; great course! Nice layout! 11 thru 14 will test your mettle! Get by these in 1 over or even par and you'll shoot your best round ever! Great undulating greens! Probably 7/8 on the stemp.
Pretty darn smooth for Bermuda greens though! Oh yeah! i'll be back!

The round started out with nice, chilly weather and then crumbled with hail, lightening, rain, wind and rain! We got in 14 holes before ducking outta there! No Lee Trevino for me thank you!

Overall, the fairways are in great shape! Greens Bermuda bumpy; bunkers have a nice layer of loose sand over harder base. Overall, the course is in great shape!

Top notch Troon course! Unlike other Troon layouts, Copper Canyon has a lot of wide open fairways! Fairways forgiving (you have to WANT to find trouble!), greens slippery and have a lot of subtle breaks within 1-2' of the cup; nice undulations on the greens! Quite a few short holes to help you score or make you lament! Bunkers, eh....but still fair. Greens well protected with bunkerage throughout! Played Vista/Lake; Mountain 9 is still fairly new. Too bad it's an hour + from downtown PHX! Reminds me of Poston Butte! Great course! Yeah; safe to say I'll be back.....:)

Course was/is in GREAT shape! Greens as fast as the Stadium course! Great on course beverage service too!

Personal preference is to play The Champion course over The Stadium! But that is a personal preference. Wait until the greenies drop down a bunch!

What a treat! Blind tee shots! Sharp blind doglegs! Tee shot management special! Sinfully long par 3's! Two at over 220+ yards! And small greens to boot! Narrow fairway landing areas but generous in the dormant grass transition areas! I was only in one bunker and it was SOFT sand! Fried egg! Risk/reward on every hole! It's better to play this course from the tips even if you're a short knock like me; try taking advantage of the forward white tees and more trouble comes into play. Greens were slow; maybe 5/6 on the stemp; local terrain comes into play on the greens for sure. Very personable staff in the pro shop and restaurant! Good local folks! I'll be back for sure when it warms up!

Not my first rodeo at GCU so my expectations were that it was going to be a nice day. A little disappointed in the off-fairway conditions but I get the whole water conservation issue. The greens almost seem painted! The greens were cut tight, firm as heck and they were on the fast side (maybe 8/9 on the stemp?); still have those nefarious breaks around the cup! And I haven't seen that color green before! Maybe the fertilizer or combination of cold and water? Anyway, the course is still a pleasure to play! The sand and under layer in the 3 bunkers that I visited were PRO!
Yeah; definitely a bounce back!

To be fair, there was a frost delay that held up play for roughly 40 mins or so. But that didn't stop the pro shop staffer from selling me a small bucket of range balls. Or, informing me of the delay, which closed the driving range and putting green. Fortunately, the driving range was opened about 15 mins before my delayed tee time. Now, for the course; haven't played OT in roughly 4 years; still the same nice layout and well maintained. Tee boxes are nice and level! The greens running around 6/7 on the stimp and have enough undulations to make putting challenging. Still though, the superintendent and pro shop staff need to get in synch when there are frost or other delay's and make sure that info is passed onto the paying player.

This is one of those courses you need to play 2/3 times. Tee boxes a little on the shaggy side and a bit uneven. Fairways in great shape; greens not so much. Greens putt fair and probably in the 6-7 stemp range. Lot's of undulations! Greens on the smallish side too. 10th hole is someone's worst nightmare! The guy who designed 10 may have been on the juice! A short course that demands your attention! Nice! 18 is a nice finishing hole itself! Coyote Lakes reminded me of some of the courses back in Kansas/Missouri! Safe to say that I'll be back!

Stonecreek is/has always been a nice course to play locally! Can play tight from the tips; fair from the gold tees! Greens slippery (8/9 stemp); lot's of subtle breaks around the cups, but putt true. Fairways are in great shape this round! Good course conditions should hold up through winter! But greenies a little steep; to be expected this time of year. Always nice to return several times a year!

Nice muni course! Out of the way from downtown! More rural then expected! Tough walking layout since there is a lot of distance between green to tee. Added up, probably a 7800 yard walk! Plays tough with the doglegs and blind tee shots! Sneaky tough course! Well bunkered! And all the greens have subtle breaks; greens rolled around 8-9! Nice days to play Cave Creek!

The course was in fine shape for the Golf Channel Am Tour tournament! Sinful pin positions, clean, closely cropped fairways and fairly slick greens! But then, this course usually plays like tournament play! I don't recall Legacy being an "easy" layout! And I've played Legacy 1/2 doz times! Including summer! The nice part is that Legacy is a resort golf club which translates to optimum playing conditions (except overseed seasons) throughout the year! Yes, it's a bounce back course for certain!
