I got a hot deal for around $47. The fairways are like carpet. The greens are gorgeous but a bit tough to read.
The wind is a factor, tho without it, the skeeters will reduce you to a skeleton.
This was a good value, with views, palm trees, manicured bunkers and diverse bird life.
Adjacent to the airport so that’s cool too, seeing touch and go’s and the occasional T-38 from NASA.

Love the views and elevation. Great view of Reliant stadium, Astrodome and downtown. Greens are undulating.

This course takes a few times playing to know where ti hit it.
Points of contact were all positive and happy.

I have played here many times and it is really different from your average Houston course.

Played the Lakes yesterday. A few of the greens had some scrunge on them, but overall in decent shape.

I would like to nominate Marshall Rick for La Porte employee of the month.
He picked up a dead skunk from the tee box with a rag and disposed of him in the woods .

This course is short but shows it teeth around the greens. Deep bunkers and undulating elevated greens.
There are elevation changes, you could think you are in the hill country on some holes. Greens are fast and bunkers are very nice.
It is tricky, but this course was designed for wooden shafted clubs.

Was once home of Houston Country Club back in the 40’s.

You can feel this finishing #9 under the oaks where the rich folks once sipped their drinks.

The downside is that you won’t be sipping any drinks, they don’t have alcohol. Heavens, no back medication.

Also this gets a lot of play so there are un repaired balls marks and un raked bunkers. Not the fault of management, rather the goobers that play here.

Greens were very good, staff was very friendly. The price was good for the experience.
Mature Douglas fir trees and elevation changes made for a unique experience for a visitor.

Actually was rained out the last time I played. The fairways and greens were in great shape despite the continous rain.
There was a rain delay and the staff did a great job making sure that everyone was taken care of.

The course sits on a great piece of property and has a variety of holes that provide quite a challenge.

I really enjoy coming here.

I have played this track many times over the years. It is a very interesting layout and has seen a lot improvements over the last several months. Many greens have been re-sodded and they hold an approach shot much better. This club has spent some money inside as well; the bar and banquet areas are quite nice now. I was happy to see the greens get overhauled, as it was overdue. There were many tee boxes and rough areas that need attention, but I came away impressed overall with what they have done. I will be back.

I have played several times and as most reviewers have mentioned the course is in great shape and is a beautiful piece of property.

The staff in the pro shop are consistently friendly and helpful. Also, enjoyed having lunch in the bar and drinks after. The wait staff were extremely friendly and welcoming.

I have played this course about 10 times and I look forward to each visit.

I got a last minute time on Sunday afternoon, as I was staying nearby.
I havent played this course for many years and decided to have my girlfriend ride along.
When I got to the pro shop, a young man opened the door and welcomed us immediately.
Man behind the desk was helpful.
In the bar area, the bartender recommended a new local draft beer.
All of this within first five minutes of being on property.
The course has some interesting holes and high rough.
The bunkers were washed out from the recent deluge we have been receiving, so I totally understand that.
This is a scenic layout that does'nt even seem like Texas sometimes.

One of the best values in the Houston area, this course has all the water that you can stand.
The greens can really get rolling, although they are a bit hard.
The staff is friendly enough, and the cart attendant is usually on duty through the week.
This course has a few short par 5's so you can make up some ground on your buddies if you have to press.
Number 9 is a short par four. It is as narrow as a hallway, lined with trees.

This former landfill has spectacular views of NRG field, Astrodome and downtown Houston. The Highlands course has cool elevation changes and the greens are usually in good shape. The course has some active (oil) pumping units for a genuine Texas flavor.
There is the occasional eagle on the Lakes course, it is pretty cool to see him fishing.
The bar is a great place to have a beer after your round. You can have your ride detailed while you are playing.
Top notch experience. This is a beautiful piece of property in the evening, especially. Hard to believe it was a landfill.

Have played this course many times. Mature trees, water, interesting wildlife, turtle back greens, forced carries. Interesting holes, just a great piece of property.
Course is above average in maintenance for a public course.

Two downsides you should prepare for:
1. mosquitos will reduce you to a skeleton
2. its a drive

Everyone likes this course and wants to play it again, just draw cards to see who drives.

I have played this layout many times. Right now it is in extremely good shape. You should play it before it is brutally hot.

Nine holer that forces you to work ball both ways. Greens can be dicey at times. This is a good value for the money.

The greens are fast right now and the bunkers and fairways are good.
Some bare spots on #3 green but this place has rebounded in a big way.
Tough lips on some bunkers made tougher as some Gomers don't rake, leaving you a footprint under the lip.
