Lake Chabot Golf Course - The 18 Hole Course
Played On 05/29/2020Somewhat difficult and challenging due to steep hills
DO NOT Attempt to walk this course... it would be BRUTAL! It has VERY steep hills and some long walks between a couple of holes. The greens were in excellent shape, but the tee boxes were in poor shape. The entire course could use better send in the very few sand traps and much more watering. All in all, it was a nice outing, but I wouldn't rush back...
Lake Chabot Golf Course - The 18 Hole Course
Played On 05/03/2020OK
This course is EXTREMELY hilly... I agree with some other reviews ...don't even CONSIDER walking it! Easy to lost balls in VERY tall weeds... and very thorny! However, I had an enjoyable day... I would rate the course just "OK"... needs lots of new sod on tee boxes and around greens...
Thank you for your review! Due to our location, walking the course could be challenging for some but offer spectacular views of the SF Bay Area. We do have plenty of golfers who enjoy the up-and-down nature of the walk for exercise during their round. We also offer golf cart rental to those who prefer. We apologize that our course conditions didn't meet your expectations. The greens keeper crew has been working tirelessly to maintain the golf course prior-to, during, and after the temporary closure. Since we have been reopened, we have been tackling as many on-course projects as possible and be assured the ones you have noted are being taken care of now or are next on the priority list. We at Lake Chabot pride ourselves on offering the best value for your round in the bay. Please contact our General Manager, Ray Robinson, directly at ray@lakechabotgolf.com to provide any additional feedback or to give the course another go. Thank you and have a great day!
Wildhawk Golf Club
Played On 04/28/2020Easy to play
This was my first time here... It was VERY "playable".. almost no real trouble. A couple of holes have a small creek or pond, but they were not a problem. Likewise, there were a modest number of sand traps, but also no problem. They could use better sand. The course was otherwise in EXCELLENT shape... they could also use a bit faster greens, but they putted "true"... Great course for beginners to intermediates. Not long enough and difficult enough for demanding golfers... The rough were fairly easy to hit from, as well...
Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club at Desert Ridge
Played On 12/26/2019Fabulous!
This course is terrific! It is well-groomed, in great condition, has wonderful sand, some water holes, playability, but difficulty if you go too off of the fairways... Just GREAT!
Plum Creek Golf & Country Club
Played On 8/14/2013A typical Pete Dye layout, the course was well designed, but over the years it has not been maintained as well as it needs. And it was VERY slow
It is really a shame to see a very good course go downhill in terms of maintenance and upkeep. The staff is nice, and the fairways and greens were nice. However, the course clearly does not get the money, time and attention to be outstanding. For a very reasonable course fee, it was fine. However, I prefer to go to other courses in the area that are better maintained and the staff makes sure that players keep up the pace of play. This got so bad that after nine holes I quit, it was so slow...
The Ridge at Castle Pines North
Played On 7/26/2013This course has magnificent mountain views and gorgeous fairways, bunkers and greens!
Overall, this is one of my favorite courses in the Denver metro area. It is kept beautifully, and golfers are treated very well. My only complaint is that it is very expensive, unless one is lucky enough to occasionally find a halfway reasonable price.
Red Hawk Ridge
Played On 7/20/2013Gorgeous vistas and a lot of changes in elevation!
This is a very scenic and beautiful course. It tends to get quite windy in afternoons, with occasional rain, but it has beautiful views of the foothills, valleys and mountains surrounding it!
Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel
Played On 7/18/2013Very nice course and staff... does need more water right now...
This is a very nice course, with a lot of diversity. The greens are tricky to read, mostly very large with undulations. Lots of bunkers by fairways and around greens. Occasional water. It was nicely maintained, but is drying out (some brown spots) due to very hot temperatures. All in all, it is a good value for the money, and worth playing several times. Great golf shop, too!
