Cedar Chase Golf Club

Course was in great shape. Greens were fast, but only needed better respect by players. There were many twisted spike marks, especially around the holes. This was a frustration as the greens were in fantastic shape. Tees and fairways were great too. The main criticism is the “sand” in the bunkers. It was more like a brown dirt with many stones and even rocks close to the size of a fist. This is not what I expect of a course of this caliber. When a course has this type of bunkers, I fear using my wedges in them without damaging my clubs. I experienced this slightly on the 9th hole. My club skipped off a rock under my ball and also hit a smaller stone, both damaged the leading edge of my sand wedge. My wedges are not cheap, so I’m frustrated when I play a course that has this poor quality “bunker fill”.
Pilgrim's Run Golf Club
Played On 08/01/2020One of my favorites
Pilgrims Run is one of my favorites. It offers a challenge in so many different ways. There are a number of trees to negotiate. The sand traps are brutal, so you want to stay clear of them at all cost, especially the fairway ones since you’ll have to worry about getting the ball into the air without hitting the lip. There’s a little water, but not too much. The greens are a great challenge with contours and rolling ridges; it takes a great imagination to read the greens properly. The only thing that I could say about the greens would be more of a criticism of those who play the course; fix your ball marks! The cups are freshly cut and are nice and sharp, no rolled edges. That’s probably one of the best things about the coronavirus time for the greens; the flag doesn’t get pulled as often and therefore people don’t go to the hole and step on it to roll the edges in. I’ve seen it,; it’s called cheating. Then everyone else has to deal with a compromised hole. I’ll say it again Pilgrims Run; keep it up. I love your course and everything you are doing. Thank you

The greens were in excellent shape. Tees were in below average shape: hard, burned out grass. Many washout and hardpan areas in many rough areas The course layout is unique. Tough holes are cut out of trees, trouble on both sides. Hit in there and it’s jail time
The Ravines Golf Club
Played On 05/30/2020The Ravines is a great experience
I hope this isn’t the last time that I golf The Ravines. It sure was a treat to play. The course is in private country club conditions, especially this early in the season. Tees are firm, greens are firm and fast, fairways are generous. Then there’s the Ravines. Sometimes you have to tee off over them. Sometimes you hit over the Ravines to the green. Then sometimes you have to layup to the Ravines at a particular distance. The Ravines makes you use many of your clubs in your bag To navigate throughout. The Ravines is a great experience

Nice course. I liked the layout. Being fairly early in the spring, this course still has areas of excessive rain. Some holes are quite difficult, some are fairly easy. I liked the mounds throughout the course.
