WOW
WOW, had not played Kinsway for a couple of years. The years have not been good to what was once an extremely well care for, challenging golf course. The manicured fairways and greens are now a thing of the past. Spoke to one of their Rangers and he could not explain what had happened to the course particularly the greens. They had either been under or over fertilized, or possibly under or over watered. Although we had played at a discounted rate a further discount based on the course conditions would have been appropriate. We will play Kingsway again but totally disappointed with our last visit.
Sabal Trace Golf & Country Club

A group of us have been playing Sable Trace for several years now. The course at the present time is in the best shape I have ever seen or played it. The greens although slow compared to other courses in the area putt true. The weeds in the greens are a thing of the past. Great work by the course superintendent. Too bad the course is scheduled to close sometime this year for a complete make over. PLay it while you can, before the renovations and I suspect an increase in green fees. $25.00 with a cart after 12 o'clock.
The Cove of Rotonda Golf Center
Played On 01/08/2015Course has been improved.
The course has undergone quite a few renovations under its new ownership. The fairways are lush and playable. The greens are rather slow and could use a cutting and rolled. Overall it is good place to practice your short game. Look forward to playing it at night under the lights. Recommended for a quick challenging round of golf on an executive course.
Port Charlotte Golf Club
Played On 01/12/2014Pace of play was ridiculously slow. No Marshalls/Rangers.
On Sunday, January 12th, 2014 we had three foursomes tee off at this course. We were put off the back nine instead of the front which is not usually a problem. The pace of play on the back nine was slow but tolerable. However when we made the turn and began to play the front nine it was like we hit a wall. We were following a foursome that was teeing off on the blue tees but only driving the ball as far as the red tee boxes. We had to wait before hitting each and every shot. By the end of the 18 holes the foursome in front of us was at least 3 holes behind the group infront of it. No Marshall/Ranger or management to move them along. Nice course but no management. Not the first time we have had a similar problem at Port Charlotte. On our previous visit they slid a twosome infront of us at the turn which turned a slow round into an even slower round. No consideration shown by management for the paying public. A management review could make Port Charlotte a pleasure to play.
Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club
Played On 12/30/2012Great value for the money.
Extremely friendly staff right from the bag drop through out the round. The fairways and ruff are in good shape as opposed to other courses in the area that have large bare spots and sparse grassy areas. The greens are fast but not as fast as the practice green. The biggest disappointment was the bunkers. It had rained 2 days earlier yet the bunkers were still full of water and had not been groomed. In addition there are a lot of little pebbles in the bunkers that get splashed up onto the greens making some putts more difficult than they should be. With a little work from the greens keeping crew the course would be in excellent condition. I would recommend anyone in the area to come and play Bobcat.
Thank you for your review and for playing at Kingsway Country Club. We are sorry to hear that your experience was not up to par. We've recently had some issues with the greens and are, unfortunately, still recovering. We hope to have another chance at exceeding your expectations.
