Pine Lakes Golf Club
Played On 01/19/2024Soggy Mess
We played this course many times in the past, but had quit playing there due to couse condition being poor. We heard that things were better this year so decided to give it another try. We were very disappointed. The course was so wet it was difficult to walk out to your ball, which often was in a pool of water in the middle of the fairway. The mud was black and slippery. Our round took almost 5 hours due to the care we had to take while walking. We played CPO at a nearby course the day before in less than 4 hours. In addition the greens were full of crabgrass which often threw our putts off. There was no evidence of spraying or anything to correct this. I really hope they can work on the drainage problems and the greens before everyone quits coming again.
Golf Club At South Hampton
Played On 05/23/2022Good choice for average golfers
Course was in pretty good shape. Greens had some problems and appeared to be being worked on. Flags were placed in the best part of the greens. Plenty of cart girls came around. We enjoyed the round.

Played On 05/25/2019Beautiful course. Very slow play.
We took 5 hours to play this course because we had to wait for EVERY SHOT. Not once did we see a marshal come around to speed things up. To look at, the course is beautiful and laid out well. But the fairways and the greens were cut too high. Even downhill there was very little roll.

Played On 09/04/2018Good experience
This was a very pleasant experience, even with the slow play. While waiting, it was enjoyable to look at the beautiful views and plants along the way. I found the course to be very "woman friendly ". My husband also enjoyed the course. It had an interesting layout. We weren't used to bent grass greens but they rolled well and we were getting our speed better toward the end. There were some divots in the fairways and a few ball marks on the greens, but the friendliness of the staff made up for that. I hope to play this course again.
Kenny Rapier Golf Course at My Old Kentucky Home State Park
Played On 09/01/2018Disappointing Round
From looking at the course from the street, and from the Golf Advisor Rating of 4.3, I was expecting to have a great round of golf. I had noticed the comments about the deep rough, but didn't realize just what an impact it would have on my game. I wasn't expecting to have to look for our balls when we were near the greens. In many cases I would have expected my ball to have rolled on to the green, but it was hiding in the tall grass near the green where it was stopped by the tall grass. Greens weren't in great shape either. Pace of play was slow and nobody was monitoring it. The only perfect thing was the weather.

Very pleasant day golfing here. Course was in great condition. We have paid much more for courses similar to this one.
Algonkian Golf Course
Played On 08/24/2017Park Golf Course with Lots of Wild Life
We had an enjoyable round. The course was long for ladies, so I did not score very well, but I enjoyed the greenness and the abundant wild life (mostly deer). Fairways had a lot of cut grass trimmings and rough was high; greens were significantly slower than I am used to, but the overall experience was positive.
LPGA International - Hills Course
Played On 4/9/2013For short hitters, very difficult
This was a very interesting and pretty course. I tend to be short and straight, but this course was difficult for me because several carries that are required are longer than I can do. This caused several extra strokes to be added to my score because of penalties. While I'm glad I played it once, I probably won't play it again because I want to at least have a chance to make a good score. Note--I am a 62 year old woman who has an average drive of 130 yards.
