Heritage Country Club
Played On 07/20/2016UNBELIEVABLE!
This was the Safari Club's first visit, as well as mine. Ordinarily I'm not big on surprises. But if they were all like this one I'd have a lot more desire to have them occur on a regular basis.
This place has everything any reasonable minded amateur golfer could possibly want or expect. An absolutely wonderful 18 DIFFERENT holes to play, a tremendously warm and accommodating staff and if you decide to eat here you may never want to leave.
The most interesting thing is this venue came up on the Safari Club's radar screen because of an issue with a couple other courses that were previously scheduled this week. It just goes to show that sometimes things really do work out for the best.
If you want another great destination golf course this is one that should be high up on your list.
Orchards Golf Club
Played On 07/11/2016Ross at his best
I guess one shouldn't be so terribly surprised to find such an incredible golf course as this in the quaint little college town of South Hadley, MA. The former site of the 2004 U.S. Women's Open Championship, this golf course represents Donald Ross at his very best. If you can get on this course...DO SO! It's one of those experiences any serious golfer will treasure for a lifetime.
Ellinwood Country Club
Played On 06/29/2016Hidden Gem
The only thing that prevents this course from being tough to get on to is it's location. It's about an hours drive from any serious population centers, but if you're looking for a "destination golf course" it's well worth the drive. Fairways are a little burnt out in some spots, but hey...we're in the middle of a pretty serious drought.
Food was also very good and the people running it are among the best you'll find anywhere.
I think the Safari Club hit another home run by having this course on their schedule and hope to go back there with them again next year.
Edgewood Golf Club
Played On 06/20/2016GREAT VALUE!
Dollar for dollar this course offers a great bang for your buck. With two other courses in the same town, both located right off the main drag (10 & 202), this course is off the beaten path, but never the less, easy to get to and not hard to find.
Beautiful scenery and fast greens are two components of this course that will make you want to come back. Staff is friendly and accommodating and the restaurant has a new chef that is a culinary genius.
Cold Spring Country Club
Played On 06/15/2016Awesome!
The Safari Club hit another home run when it's cast of over 130 players landed here to play on a beautiful Chamber of Commerce type day in mid June.
Fairways were in perfect shape and the greens were among the very best we have played. But that's just the golf course!
The clubhouse is one of a kind. Perched high up on a hill with southeasterly views into the central Connecticut hills, one couldn't ask for a better viewing opportunity to enjoy a good meal.
The staff is top notch and they will give you the feeling you're at an exclusive private golf course. Wherever one travels from, this is a destination type golf course that is really worth the effort of getting there.
Oak Ridge Golf Club
Played On 06/08/2016Another home run!
The Safari Club did it again! Another fabulous golf course run by an equally fabulous staff. The greens are absolutely fantastic and you simply can't get a better bang for your buck anywhere in the immediate area. The course has a few holes that will help keep your card from becoming too bloated in score. While it also offers some holes that will challenge the best golfers out there. For anyone flying into the area from out of state, the proximity to Bradley Airport makes this little gem a no-brainer. Great course and competitive rates.
Crumpin-Fox Club
Played On 06/01/2016Does it get any better?
The Safari Club travels to this special location each year. Interestingly enough, as good as it has been any year we've played there, it actually seems better the next.
The course is in fabulous condition and with their new PGA professional - longtime pro Jim McDonald at the helm, it might even get better yet.
Lookout Augusta...Crumpin Fox is right on your heels.
Thanks for the 5 star review! We were happy to see you all on the course again. Thanks for playing with us!
The Golf Club at Wyndhurst Manor & Club
Played On 05/25/2016Spectacular
Traveling back to a gilded time is what one experiences when traversing the scenic beauty of this spectacular golf venue tucked away in the heart of the Berkshires. Sharing this experience with 140 other Safari Club members on an absolutely beautiful day in late May made the whole experience even that much more "spectacular". This is a must play venue for anyone looking for a very special experience through a round of golf.
Tekoa Country Club
Played On 05/18/2016Do you like feeling welcomed?
The Safari Club journeyed to Tekoa for its season opener yesterday. They do so every year, as well as finishing off their season at the same venue.
It's not surprising they chose this course to play twice each year. Great layout, great conditions, great food and an extremely pleasant and courteous staff make this course a FIVE STAR value know matter how you look at it.
Red Tail Golf Club
Played On 10/19/2015Fantastic, absolutely FANTASTIC!
I shared a day with the Safari Club at Red Tail recently and now I can easily understand why this great venue is considered by many "THE" premier golf course in the northeast!
A simple WOW doesn't seem adequate, but it certainly expresses my thoughts about this place best
Crestview Country Club
Played On 10/13/2015Absolutely Spectacular
Played here with the Safari Club and what a great experience it was for me and all our members.
Course is in IMMACULATE shape and is one of the very best layouts to be found anywhere in the northeast.
Also, if you need a bite to eat go no further than their 19th hole. They put a buffet together for us that was absolutely out of this world.
Crestview is an easy 5-star golf venue for anyone to enjoy.
I would not play this course unless on a hot deal . The fairways were in terrible shape. The greens were good anice design which you would expect from a Ross course. Not worth 35 dollars 10 or 15 maybe. Its not a hidden gem
